Well, a few days ago it was an issue for you so you should see if it has been fixed, unless it was just the imagination playing games

For me it was not fixed.. I was curious, and I tried it once.. And 4 hours later when I brought it out of sleep, and went into LiveTV it was freezing like crazy. Rebooted box and it was fine.
So I put it back to power down for powerkey definition. May have just been a conincidence, but the extra minute for boot up is not really a huge issue, and always know it is a clean boot.
I never had an issue with the box waking out of sleep. My original post was about android 6 boxes getting the android 7 update. I talked about defining the power key to shutdown which I can't do with android 6 but I never said anything about having issues with it going into sleep. I know others have issues though.
yeah, I'm thinking of picking it up from him this week and looking at it myself.
I still think it's something he's done on his end or he's confused...either way I know I gave him an android 6 box and he sent me pics of his box now on android 7.
What video player are most people using on these buzz boxes? I find if I use the internal player the video it is much smoother on the hd sports channels for nba or nhl but using the default player it stutters/skips a little. The only problem using the internal or secondary player is the video does go black screen after a while but changing the channel up or down brings it back again and smooth sailing once again.
I am using android version 7.1.2.
Sometimes it's best to create your own thread with the unit issues you are having, especially when it is a totally different issue to the one in the thread you posted in. Just remember that in future
Different players seems to work differently on different services. So you must stick to what works for you as a user. Default and secondary players seems to be the top choices.
