I have both at this time. They both are working about the same, speed wise.
Surfshark has advantages.
I like the 2fa login because I can set it up on someone's device and even if they get my info they cannot access my account
Also has WireGuard setup for my router.
IPVanish is outdated, the config files have to edited before using on a router with modern firmware.
Also has WireGuard for their app only not their router setup.
These may seem minor to most people but are important to me.
My android box is an old generic one, I'm considering windscribe VPN over surfshark and IPTV vanish but regardless of which one I choose when I download the app does the box need to be connected to my Google account at all times or can I sign out after I've downloaded the app, I've never used a VPN before so I'm trying to get all the facts I can.
Thanks for the reply
You don't need to be logged into play store to get the windscribe app.
You can download it directly from windscribe web site using your PC, and put the downloaded APK file on a USB stick. Once you have it on a USB stick, you can install it on your box, by using a file browser installed on your box, and then going to the USB stick and clicking on the APK file you downloaded. If this is the first time you do it, Android may ask you to grant permission to the browser to install apps, just do it.
This is the version I would try first, since it is optimized for use with a remote:
if that one does not work well for you, you can download the generic Android client.Code:https://windscribe.com/install/mobile/android-direct-tv
Code:https://windscribe.com/install/mobile/android-direct-phone
Sounds good thanks for all the information
