I actually made a small but maybe big step in identifying the problem. I took my channel list with the non working 91 channels and opened it up in the Jynxbox channel editor. Problem is I think the editor is from the original Jynxbox team not the clone group.
However I was able to read the file and I noticed that a value called a "ONID" in the TP's that don't work, the value was 0 and in the working TP's the value was 256. So I made the edit and loaded it back in to my Jynxbox Lite and it bricked that box. Lucky I was able to bring the box back with the special RS232 cable that box uses 9 pin serial on one end and 3.5mm stereo jack on the STB end.
Here is an attachment of the cable needed for that box but I suspect it comes with it when you got it new.Attachment 30187
So I think the Jynxbox Editor clone killed my device but not before I was able to see a possible issue. If we could edit that channel dump file we might be able to fix it. I will take another go at it tomorrow night see if I can get it to work with editor somehow?
try a hex editor
Ya I tried to open in notepad LOL. But yes HEX editor. I know once you make the change you have to correct the checksum. Hopefully I can do that, it's been a while...
I know this might sound weird but out of boredom I was randomly entering LNB frequencies and now I have a signal of 97 and quality of 95. My settings are as follows
LNB Power - ON
LNB Type - single
LNB Frequency - 11.050 (manually entered on T5)
LNB 22KHZ - on
Is it possible that just entering the correct frequency manually might solve this problem? I have been at it for a couple hours now just to get this far. Or am I wasting my time?
do you get the channels that have changed?
What box (STB) are you using?
T5 Dreamlink. Im changing the frequency manually by 5 and only found the one combo that increases the signal strength and quality. I am working my way down in numbers now. even though it is showing the increase on the settings page, it is not changing when on the guide while on one of the missing channels. I might be wasting my time but you never know. if I get higher S/Q then I go up/down by single digits on frequency. so its time consuming.
You're wasting your time. The T5 is going to be a doorstop very soon. Sucks seeing I loved the 3 I had up and running for many years.
Why would it be a door stop, all the HD works, plus the guide channel is still SD on 91 TP 14228.
They can say all they want but HD works here on a Dreamlink.
Thing about IKS overall is the low bandwidth, not everyone can stream IPTV, most but not all. In rural areas where I am high speed internet is only available by Starlink.
is anyone getting nfl sunday ticket if so what are the settings please
They are up on T5 2500's are the channels.
Is anyone else not getting channel 229 CTV Ottawa?
Doesn't scan in on my jynkbox or dreamlink t4
that is strange as I don't see why we wouldn't get ctv ottawa
Well, I made a stupid mistake last night. I hadn't read this thread in awhile so I factory reset my Junxbox because I was trying to fix a network connection issue. I lost all my channels (obviously) and now half the TPs on 91 won't scan, just say SKIP as others have said. No matter how many times I try to do a manual scan.
Can someone who has 91 fully working on their Junxbox please upload a channel list file in the appropriate section and link it here? Thank you.
Okay, I did a bunch of experimentation tonight on the Junxbox because I had some free time. This assumes you already have all the right frequencies, changed everything to 21500 TURBO, and you get a blue/green signal intensity/quality lock after a few seconds when you go to the TP in the list - but still, if you auto scan, half or more of them just say SKIP.
First of all, no matter how many times you manual scan a TP, it's never going to work, I think. I tried 10 times each on about 8 different TPs, and never got a single lock.
However... If you just keep doing an auto scan over and over on 91, you might have some luck like I did. I'm not talking once or twice, I'm talking a dozen times or more. I also had "Network Search" on, no idea if it makes a difference. Each time you do a scan it adds to your existing channels anything new it has found, it doesn't remove the old ones.
Which TPs it locks on to in a given scan seems to be up to completely random chance.
You're going to probably feel like an absolute fool like I did when doing this, but I am 100% serious when I say this worked for me.
I kept some notes of which TPs came in on each scan, and what the TV channel total was for that scan pass, so I could easily see if what I was doing was changing anything, and it was. I recommend you do the same so you feel slightly less insane.
Here are my notes. This information is useless to you unless you are just curious.
PASS 1 2,4,8,11,13,14,17,19,22,24,26,28,30,33 (forgot total)
PASS 2: 2,4,6,11,13,14,16,20,22,24,26,29,31,33 TOTAL 252
PASS 3: 2,4,6,8,10,12,13,14,16,20,23,25,28,30,33 TOTAL 288
PASS 4: 2,6,8,13,14,17,22,24,26,31,33 TOTAL 179
PASS 5: 2,4,6,8,12,13,14,18,20,22,26,28,30,32,33 TOTAL 287
PASS 6: 3,5,7,10,12,13,14,19, - AND then the damn box randomly rebooted itself lol
PASS 7: 2,5,8,10,12,13,14,18,20,23,26,28,30,33 TOTAL I forgot to look at it but it was about 240?
PASS 8: 2,8,10,13,14,17,19,21,23,25,27,31,33 TOTAL 236
PASS 9: 11,13,14,16,18,21,23,26,28,33 TOTAL 186
[At this point I am beginning to cancel the scan whenever I get above 15, because the only missing TPs are 1,3,7,9, and 15.]
PASS 10: 2,4,6,13,14 CANCEL
PASS 11: 2,11,13,14 CANCEL
PASS 12: 2,10,12,13,14 CANCEL
PASS 13: 3,5,10,13,14 CANCEL
PASS 14: 4,7,9,11,13,14 CANCEL
PASS 15: 7,11,13,14 CANCEL
PASS 16: 3,5,7,10,13,1 CANCEL
By Pass 16, I got tired of doing it. I am still missing TP 1 (12224V) and TP 15 (12474H). I remember there never being anything on TP1 I think, but I don't know about 15.
I can tune in all the channels I have scanned in, but some of them do take awhile to tune in, they even say no signal for about 10 seconds before finally getting a lock, and then they are stable.
My educated guess as to what's happening, at least for me, is that the signal from some of the TPs is marginal, and it's taking the box too long to get a lock on them when scanning. Sometimes it just happens to get a lock a bit faster on some of the ones it missed last time, and that's why they randomly start working. Also explains why it takes awhile to tune the channels, and also if you look at the TP in the list it takes a good 5-10 seconds to show the good SQ/intensity. I have no idea why this just started happening to a bunch of people recently, though, when it worked fine for a good while.
Let me know if this works for you. If it doesn't, I'm sorry for wasting half an hour of your day.
Yup, going through a very similar experience.
I know that you mean.... took me 4 tries and then magically a few missing channels were added. It seems to be a slightly different result every single scan.
do you have the option to scan a tp individually?
I too made the mistake of deleting all channels on an original Jynxbox lite. I too ran into the "SKIP" problem.
I remember back in the day scanning I think old SD Viewsats. You had to scan certain TPs and sometimes site on a channel then continue to scan. I was like the box was discovering or building the "channel map".
I think the same thing applies here but you may have to do an auto scan in the JB? Just thinking out loud here. You may do well st sit on the channels that do scan and try again.
I will give it a whirl in a few days maybe Sunday if I find time.
Yesterday I scrubbed my Junxbox channels and started all over again.
As blackjack posted, you will need to re-scan 91w several times to get a full channel list. For me it was 5 attempts to get everything that seems possible to obtain at this point.
You will get random OK and SKIP each time, but eventually you can get nearly every transponder scanned in. It is helpful to keep a scorecard to check off when you get an "OK" on each transponder number, almost like playing Bingo, lol.
I ended up with very similar results to blackjacks results...... I cannot get TP1 and I think it was TP15 even after multiple scans.
82w seems to scan perfectly in 1 try.
Hey lost all channels on my DL t5 (I have a sonic view HD and a jynxbox too but not using currently) was only watching 82 only so didn't switch
have scanned several times no luck
Should I switch receivers and scan?
or just go with IPTV now (I really like IKS so don't want to)
any help would be greatly appreciated
thanks
Jackson
The T5 is Basically a Door stop now, can't handle the changes that are ON GOING
I have shelved mine & currently using my SV8000HD
I've made the switch from Dreamlink to a Junxbox.
After getting a Jynx/Junx configured and scanned in, it will do the job as a full replacement to what you had with Dreamlink.
At this time you'd need to use both 82 and 91 to get a full channel list. However, this is changing almost weekly as channels keep getting pulled from 82 and added to 91.
First of all thanks to blackjack for his post and info, it worked for me on my old jynxbox ultra hd v30. I get strong locked signals on all transponders and many stations with auto scan. My issue is that I get many duplicate station numbers and on some stations only sound no video. Should I delete all stations and start over? Any suggestions would be appreciated
I am using Junxbox, which from my understanding is a Jynxbox clone. So menus should be the same.
If you go to menu, channel and TV channel list..... you will see all your channels on that page including the duplicates.
For duplicates, one will be on 91, and the other on 82 (nimiq 4).
When you click on each channel, you will see the transponder information so you will know which one is which. The working (91) channel should come up live display in the top corner, the other channel (most likely 82 nimiq4) will stay black.
You can manually EDIT and DELETE the duplicate Nimiq4 channels from this page without having to start all over.
This will probably be a weekly event as channels keep getting shuffled over to 91. A good practice seems to be to run a few separate 91 scans and then go into that channel menu and look for duplicates. This means the channel has moved over to 91, and you can remove it from 82.
anybody knows why I see Nimiq1 instead of Nimiq6 for 91 sat? when I scan 91 I have many TPs skipping so I dont get many channels on 91
thanks
That's not unusual, my SV8000HD Says Galaxy (91W) For Nimiq 1,3 under Sat heading or Dish Settings
I believe that's in the software, which hasn't been updated EVER or For a long time. Also have you made "ALL" the TP changes
that are needed Now for Sat. 91, Bev is STILL Mucking with things (82 channels to 91) etc. and aren't done till 82 Sat. is "HISTORY", That's my Take on it anyways ?
thanks Auggie, yes I did all the changes in the TPs. At first I scanned 91 and got the few channels that moved from 82 to 91 but since we moved the dish to get a better signal with 91 and lost 82, now when I scan 91, I am not getting any new channels and most TP are just skipping. Damn Bell
You may need to scan 4 or more times to pickup extra channels possibly ?
With all the changes going on, it is a "Work In Progress" with the Remaining FTA receivers that are LEFT.
