Finally finished new ATF +4 fluid checked level and ran test, no codes but it runs like manual transmission it won't go in to first gear in D I have to shift in to 1 gear and shift manually, rechecked all electrical connections and checked for codes the only code is 55 in the O/D light that means there are no trouble codes, speedometer works and all the tranny sensors are new, I adjusted the throttle cable a few times the only thing I have to recheck is the band adjustment, Reverse applies solid but D goes into 3rd gear......
Good morning all...sorry that i missed your post, but it's been awhile & assumed you got it working. This beast just doesn't want to help us out.lol.
If you're able to select all gears manually, including 1st,that tells me that the hard mechanicals are good & working properly, such as clutch piston seals, brake band, ect. You are down to controls, like valve body, ect. When you select the gear manually, you are by-passing shift valves, solenoids, throttle pressure, governor pressure, ect. The fluid goes from pump,to manual valve,to clutch & away you go.It's been awhile since I've played with an older unit like yours, so I'm not sure what you can do with a good diagnostics tool on that model. If you have access to a GOOD scan tool,it may help you confirm/eliminate electronics, or show lack of electronic controlled hydraulics. This is difficult for me to do from here, but we won't give up bro.I don't want you to keep throwing parts at it until it's fixed either.
I think I found the problem, yesterday I removed pan and replaced the new solenoid (governor) with the old damage one and I got first gear only and code 26 back again, I am ordering new solenoid this time the Borg Wagner one, as soon as I can come up with more money I'll do the ultimate upgrade with DNJ solenoid that uses the GM solenoid and comes with the wiring adapter and housing for new GM solenoid...........but until then I will keep you up to date.......TP
The Noof, forgot to mention the O/D brake clutch I had to add 1 more clutch and 1 steel because both pressure plate were damaged on the surface, my friend with a Lathe measure and took from each surface enough to add those 2 parts and keep the same size 4th and lock up work perfectly without the winding noise it had before, the noise was the spacer for rear piston was not the proper size and was applied 4th before the piston was pressing the big spring in the O/D unit, so that part is perfect now thanks to Sonnax spacers and checking clearance 3 to 4 times before assemblyCode:https://www.dnjcomponents.com/products/d-cf1
Sounds better from here bro!

This is the one I got, it is adjustable it ran like baby.........
If I may just ONCE get away with profanity...halla phuckin' yulla bro!Patience & thought processes are virtues long lost.Congrats on solving problems that very few could solve.
Next Post will be a 4L60E from 2000 Chevy S10 Xtreem.........it's been parked for 7 years now since the transmission went bad.......
