Hello guys, I got a 2 stroke engine oil as a promo and it has some terms I am not familiar with, the only thing I found out is that those terms are used on boat's terms................................

TC-W
TC-WII
TC-W3

NMMA = National Marine Manufacturers Association
TC-W= Bio 2 Cycle Engine Oil
TC-WII =two cycle water-cooled, third generation.
TC-W3=?

What brand oil and what engine do you have?
I ask this question because even though the oil may have the TC-W rating your operator's manual calls for, I've seen issues.

The thing is, I met some friends on the lawn care business and they were suggesting me to use the ratio manufacturers recommend, 2 stroke air cooled engine oil, but I got better results with marine 2 stroke oil, what results? They over pass the 50 hours of life they were meant to, they smoke like crazy if I don't use synthetic oil.

This is one of the brands I use, not my favorite 'cause it doesn't smoke....
More oil in the gas mix will lube the 2 stroke better, it will smoke like crazy and no way it passes an emissions test ...LOL:thumbsup:
Thanks JCO, got a few friends that say different, they say the extra oil will make the trimmer over heat, i personally don't think so, I believe more oil, more lubrication, more lubrication less friction, less friction less heat..........math is math lol.Quote:

99.9% of the time when the 2 strokes aren't working right around here I pull the plugs clean them and thin out the mix that someone else mixed up, usually works but there is the odd time I have to clean out the carb or swap out plugs......
the more run it it the more you'll know if its right, my grandfather used to drive down the road (Hauling full loads of wood) listening to no music, I asked him one day, he said, you can always hear whats going right and whats going wrong in your engine if you hear it and feel it going down the road, that old man never had a problem with his truck for years.......

Exactly why I love to use marine oil with my trimmers using mixtures of 16:1......8onz to a gallon of gasoline...........using this mixture my weed eater is still running with almost 300 hours of use........Quote:

hummmmmmmmmmm, lol, I'll read again and will post info, but I am sure the manual said it was the life of the engine, moderate is rated at 150 hours when commercial trimmers are rated at 300 hours.............Quote:
