anyone no if there is any benefit to running the new 2.2.70.545(final) client over running the 1.04?
Goo came out with about 12 versions of the 2.0 before the final. I tried one of the earlier versions on my nano for a short time but not long enough to really say if there was a benefit. Before the 2.0 version there was if memory serves me right version 1.01, 1.04, 1.11 and 1.14. Some versions worked with certain stb's but not others. So I guess one benefit is that the 2.0 version has all the supported stb's rolled into one. I'm going to try it out on my 2700A and my 600s before long. That is if I can get my lazy hind end busy and drag em out of there boxes again. lol
lol. ok i will continue to roll the 1.04 then it seems to be decent enough for now and thanks again for all your help always!
I have been trying to use this latest 2.2 Client on my CaptiveWorks 600S without any success, keep getting some error message about receiver protocol. I changed the receiver protocol to 4 for this receiver and it will not work, does anyone have this running a CaptiveWorks receiver?. As a matter of fact I have tried to use other versions of the Client 1.11V and 1.14V on this receiver without any success, am i missing something. I would like to try using something different from the Rqsssp 1.03V or 1.04V as my box keeps freezing with both.It seems to lag behind in comparison to the Client that I use to run a Ultra Lite without a problem and without any freeze.
ran on 1.04 for few days before i disconnected to test other boxes i had kicking around.. i will reconnect my600s now and see what its acting like
im sorry i messed up i am running the v1.11 with almost no freezing and when does back on in about 5 seconds maybe... did u load the 2.31_caid_fix?
last release was actually 2.2.96.568
I found version 2 a lot easier to set up since you don't need com0com......just have to unzip and enter your info.
Some of the other features also............
run like windows service ........so you don't see it on PC
option to choose how many times it tries server before going to next server.
Are you saying that you are using the latest Client 2.2V to run your Captiveworks 600S receiver. If the answer is yes, what are the setting that you are using? What receiver protocol are you using and Baud rate.
After reading this thread earlier I pulled my 600s out of it cocoon and messed around with it. I tried several of the 2.0 versions with various settings and came up empty. The protocol is listed in the client but none of the cw stb's are listed in the receiver list as known to be working. I even messed around with the port setting in the devise manager of my laptop and still nothing. I also tried the 1.11 and the 1.14 but from my read they were never setup to use with the cw so I figured I wouldn't get no where. But it is possible I could have missed something.
I'll check around and see if someone has one running with the 2.0. And if so hopefully find out how they have the client setup.
the 1.11 works well on the 600s.. ive had it hooked up for a few days with minimal problems...
all i did was put my codes in and saved the program.. started up the client and it came on right away. i followed the pictures and instructions you posted in the how to set up cw600s for p$ forum..
Thanks man, I appreciate your feedback. I have been trying to get this thing to work with the Client without any success. Will keep a look out for any progress, I am in discussions with Goo who has promised to assist me with this, so if I do get it to work will let you know.
I am of the view that you are not sure what you are taking about here. You are saying you used the Step by step instructions by abouttosnap to get the 600S up and he is trying to do the same and cannot get it to work. I noticed whenever We ask you to explain what you did you cannot give any sensible explanation. I don't think I want to waste anymore time asking you explain anything.
he asked if i made any changes to the config file! all i did in the config file was put in my codes like abouttosnap told me to.. i started by loading this file into my stb.. http://www.satfix.net/showthread.php...04_14_caid_fix turn autoroll off then hit f1. 000 to enable patch and f1. 555 to enable car sharing.. then dl and extract this file http://www.satfix.net/showthread.php...ceiver-Support.. open config file. only thing i changes was card_server_url=newcamd//... added my p$ codes (should look like this card_server_url=newcamd//name: pass@serverdomainorip: port/deskey.. saved file then opened up client program and i had channels.. make sure you keep config file and client program in same file to work properly.. if u have any other questions i will try to explain in better detail next time so you can understand.. i am also using the client programs for the vs stb's and have not had any problems with any of them
everything i needed to get running on the 1.11 was available in this forum (how to set up cw600s for p$) that is why i was directing you there earlier...
sorry i forgot to add after the caid file scan ur channels and you also must have a pc connected to the stb via the rs232 port.. this way i believe i have now covered everything for you
I find it quite strange that you are the first person that is reporting that was able to get the CaptiveWorks receiver to work on any version of the XX-Client.What you need to do is Remove your donation number from the config file and copy the whole thing let us see. By the way, the information you post I cannot find it, just tell me where on this site to find what you are talking bout. I have the CAID FIX file loaded on my 600S and it is not what you are claiming, I think you are confusing the Rq-sssp client set up that I imagine would be posted on most sites. Are you saying that abouttosnap would write a step by step instruction that he himself cannot follow.
LOL! Before this gets off the rail let me say this. So far the only one that I know that works with the cw600s is the 1.04 version. There maybe another version that works for some other folks but not for me so far. We maybe getting versions and stb's confused. lol
thank you abouttosnap before it go out of hand i appreciate you stepping in.. i exchanged forum chat with you about 2 weeks ago i followed everything you told me to do and i am showing my client version xx-1.11 is running very good.. i am not trying to cofuse anyone here or screw anyone up i am going off of what i have learned and all i no is my cw600s is running fine on the 1.11 and i have explained in this forum exactly what i did to make it run
As a matter of fact, if you read my post properly you would realize that I have my Captiveworks 600S set up and working on the Rq-sssp client 1.03V and 1.04V so I would have to have done all the things you are wasting time posting. By the way, I am no novice to this, so I can easily see that what you are saying don't make any sense. I think you should leave things you know nothing about to the experts like abouttosnap.
and also as for the client file i am running on a seperate computer as the one i use for everything else in u give me a few mins i will type in everything i do use in the config file and post it here
well i am letting you no that i am running fine on the 1.11 doing everything i explained to you so if ur having issues then you can stop complaining and figure it out yourself
Thanks for your intervention, but I do think both versions 1.03V and 1.04V work, as a matter of fact it is proven the 1.03V works best on the 600S with faster channel changes. But I find that both versions have a lag time with CW (code word) which causes freezing. What are the exact settings you use on your 600S in the config. file that could reduce this lag time, if this is possible. Don't get me wrong the freezing is just once in a while and nothing I cannot live with but have you been able to get your 600S to run totally freeze free. I am running on a computer with Windows XP and also has the RS232 port so I am not using a USB-Serial connection as this has been reported to cause a lot of freezing.
jdread.... i just want to say to you that im not trying to get in a fight with you by all means.. i am just trying to tell you exactly how i got my cw600s running using the 1.11.. and all i did was posted to abouttosnap who i respect and i think verly high of.. and he gave me all the answers.. which are still posted in the how to get 600s on p$ forum.. i dont want to make enemies on this site i am just trying to give my personal insight on how i got my box running and i hope that it does help ppl get there's running even if it didn't help you
ok and i respect that fact.. i just know that exactly what i explained is working for me! so ill just say sorry for not being able to help you and i do wish you the best of luck with getting ur stb going cause i no how bad it sucks not having it working! and if anything if you'd still like i can post what my cofig file looks like
thank you!!! and if it helps if i post my config files i can with no issues just let me no!
I am up and running it is only that I am having a little freezing and thought that with this new programme I would be able to get it running without any freeze.By the way, if you are running without any freeze I would like to still have a look at your config. file.
[general]
serial_port=/com1
serial_port_settings=115200|8|N|1
byte_write_delay=200
receiver_protocol=0
caid_mappings=
return_single_cw=0
background_execution=1
debug_level=1
log_to_file=0
logfile_name=/var/bin/rq-sssp-client.log
control_words_timeout=12
card_server_url=newcamd://username: password@servername or ip: port/deskey
if it helps at all thats exactly how my config looks
also there is some freezing but it seems to be not too bad for the most part
Just to report that I am now testing the XX-Client 2.2V on my 600S, It is up and running and will let you guys know when it is ready to be used by other Captiveworks users. I am getting the assistance of Goofather with this project.
