How to FIX your Units if no video or stuck on boot or continuous rebooting

Someone make this stick please!

Process to restore your unit - fix issues of no video or continuous reboots or stuck on boot etc! If you have no video coming due to PAL issues there is an easy fix!

Download any working file like 2.4, 2.3, 2.2 etc (22.33 MB)

extract the zip file and rename the udf file to

pinwheelhdfactory_fw.udf

(note: if you are displaying file extension in Windows, the file will be pinwheelhdfactory_fw.udf and if you are not displaying file extensions in Windows then file will be pinwheelhdfactory_fw)

Take 1 blank USB drive - this drive should have nothing on it, except only one file

Put the file on the root folder of the USB drive

so the USB drive will only have pinwheelhdfactory_fw.udf file

Now unplug the unit from power

Insert the USB drive into any USB port

Hold the Front Power Down and keep holding it

Plug in power to your unit

You will see UPGRD on the front display, release the front power button

This will start the process of restoring the unit

As usual will take long to erase and write

After completing it will display FINSH on the front display

Remove USB Stick and reboot the unit and it should boot into the file without any issues

I may make a suggestion when changing (renaming file ) i first tried several times by going to properties and changing it there but you actually need to right click it and select rename or it wont work and get ER-1 msg when trying to load it . I managed to go back to 2.4 tonight using this method .

My Pinwheelhd_mini is stuck on boot. I renamed the udf file 2.4 as pinwheelhdfactory_fw.udf and loaded on a blank usb and followed the procedure. The receiver is trying upgrade but I am getting error "ErA5" Is there anyone who can help? I will highly appreciate.

pinwheel mini keeps rebooting!

Use new usb
Re download the files
Rename it to factory.udf as instrctions say
Make sure its in root folder

Using 2.6?

Also make sure to remove ls400 to see if that changes anything

my brother had the same problem he had sound on ch.300 but no picture so he bought his pinwheel hd mini to me to see if i could do anything to fix it for him,so before i made any changes to his box i found that all it did was it somehow erased ps settings
so i input all his private info in then put it ch.200 and it came on but couldn't change channel so he told me to press the ok or enter button on the remote and everything went back to normal,hope this helps

MAIN

main = main screen on menu , your unit is just fine.. check your tv output settings

main = so it booted fine no more reboot

try hdmi out

I had trouble doing this process. I had formatted a USB stick in FAT32, placed the appropriate file on it and during the installation got an "Er 1" display. I changed to a USB stick that was already formatted and the process worked as described.
Why does the display alternate between small cap and large cap letters?

ok.. so i am having these same issues, so i took out the ls400 and it booted to main. does this mean the ls400 is defected becouse as soon as i put it back in it does the stupid reboot problem again (this is a brand new unit just popped it out of the box)

make sure that you put in the ls400 properly - make sure the pins are not shorting

I went picked up a new ls400. And it works but funny thing is the old ls works in my limesat from many moons ago

I'm having the boot problem. Have followed instructions no go, it's stuck on Er 1. How do you make sure file is in root folder? I'm hoping that's where I'm doing something wrong.

Thank you fta4me instructions worked as described and were a great help. After 20 tries my friends box finally loaded. What worked for me is I formatted the flash drive and renamed file to pinwheelhdfactory_fw. For some reason it would not load renaming a file to pinwheelhdfactory_fw.udf, even with new stick?
