The kids lost a heartbreaker I say!Certainly played well enough to beat the first placed team in the nhl.The boyz played with men & came within inches of winning.They made Canadian hockey fans proud.....even us Habs fans!Go Leafs go I say.
P.S...I bet Andersen wishes he had that flub back.

Yes my friend the Leafs have progressed from last season in leaps and bounds.....but as exciting as this game was it was pretty much the norm for us Leafs fans. Great plays, great goaltending sprinkled with a couple bad goals, lousy defense, blown multi goal leads and inefficient 3rd period offense. It`s been this way all season....this game was a norm no matter what that idiot Hughson has to say.Quote:

We`re getting bonus coverage today....2 games for the price of one........the first period and a half the Leafs were absolutely horrible in their defensive coverages, I was amazed it was tied going into the 3rd when out of nowhere the Leafs took over the game. Leafs defenese pinching a lot....feast or famine time cause more often than not you get caught on a stretch pass. We have a PP starting OT so let`s hope we can take care of it quick. Gardiner still scares the crap out of me every time he touches the puck although he`s settled down fine after that first period.

Now there was a game won on pure determination............Caps are going to have a hard time regrouping after that one. I`d called Caps in 5 and I was never so happy to be wrong. GO LEAFS GO !!!

Morgan Reilly GP 76 PTS 27 +/- minus 21
Nikita Zaitsev GP 82 PTS 36 +/- minus 22
These guys need hockey summer camp
I much prefer
Martin Marincin GP 25 PTS 7 +/- plus 3 (had a huge game tonight)
Nothing wrong with Gardner GP 82 PTS 43 +/- plus 24
Plus I think they found their goalie in Andersen
This team is going to be a divisional top team ,,, top 4 in the conference
The future is bright for Leafs fans
the thing with Reilly and Zaitsev is all year they were put on the ice against all the nhl top lines, they sheltered jake a lot, I see reilly as a number 3 or number 2 and Zaitsev as a 4-5 guy. they need to get a true number 1 which will be next to impossible this year, and a good 3-4 shut down dman. Alzner is ufa after this year maybe look at him as a shut down d man for next year, this years ufa list is pretty weak for d-men

One butt ugly period....don`t know where the Leafs got the idea they could handle a physical game in our end because the Leafs defense can`t handle their offense....quick puck movement is the only way to beat that....too many turnovers.Quote:

That 5/3 PP pretty much summed up the game as far as I could see. The Leafs were slow, tentative and had no urgency in their game tonite................it also verified what I said that our defense couldn`t handle the Caps forwards in our zone.............our worst game by far.Quote:
