ebay. 12v 2amps is what i believe you need for the box
This is true.I spent 3 days changing lnb,s dishes and switches.About 10hrs.Then change the power supply.DAMMM iT WORKS.
This is Lionkings post in the Dreamlink T5 section:
Default Dreamlink T5 HD AC Adapter
I thought I should post a new thread about Dreamlink T5 HD AC Adapter.
The reason for anyone who has an issue as myself with their DL T5 HD that reboots itself every few days.
It could even be a different DL that has the same issue.
Please Google search under this Model # RS AB025J00
After you find the link look at the prices that should be below $30.
input 50/60 hz .8A max
output 12v 2.5 A
Remember to look for the Adapter that has the wall socket plug combined together with the
adapter and then one cord to the receiver, I found works the best.
Most of the Power Supply or Adapters that come with the DL Models usually have the ones with the plug and cord that then leads to the adapter box and then again another cord to the receiver aren't the best.
Yes..Lionking did a lot of research and has a few threads on the power supply problems and cures in Dreamlink T5 discussions.
Does anybody know where I can get on of these north of the border. The guy on ebay wants a lot with shipping . need one north of border or friendlier shipping aleast.
Which border?? The one I found on Ebay from cegreatdeals is $17.99 + $4.99 freight.
Try Amazon, and all you need is one rated for 12 volts DC at 2.5 amps (or higher), and that it has the correct plug for your unit.

You are God!!! I was having this issue on my T5 for over 6 months now.. Read your post changed the adapter and it worked.. Thank you very much!!
DL T5 said HI, That's it. Turn on/off switch to off position took all the wires out except for power, turn the switch back on and nothing happened. no light. I test the power supply with fluke under no load which looks fine.
Is the issue with the power supply problem is under the load?
I open the box and I don't see any fuse, but I notice 12VDC go off/on while attached to the box with the power switch on with the tester hooked up parallel. It's either the box shorted or power supply bad.
Any suggestion is appreciated.
Try it with a 20 ohm 10 watt resistor inline with the power supply + and -, or a 12 volt light from a turn signal, this will put a load on the power supply, it should still be around 12 volts DC, if it drops the the power supply is bad, if it doesn't then the receiver is bad.
Thanks for response Terry.
I found an old variable dc power supply in my garage and set it up for 12 vdc. When I hooked it up under the load the dc dropped lower. Then I gradually increased it to get 12. When I turned the on/off switch to off and on position the stb comes on and said hi and reboot and then all I get is 4 or 5 dashes. At this time looks like stb is on, but remote dose not response. I don.t see any red infrared light in the front screen either. When I turn the receiver off my voltage is around 22vdc. This was 12 earlier while receiver was on.
How much DC current can the power supply put out??? If it's over 1 amp then the receiver is pooched.
Looks like it's less than an amp.
Input 120vac 2A
Output 0-160vdc .6 A
Bought a new power supply 3A output, worked fine.
Thanks Terry
Could one of you experts on this subject please check the specs below and let me know if this will work with the T5
Thanks

Yes. Just make sure that the end that plugs into the unit is the correct diameter as well.
I'm referring to the end into the unit. The current running through it wouldn't be consistent if you cut and join your old end.
Not sure where you’re located but if your in Ontario Canada there are a few sellers on Kijiji or check amazon.ca there are a few sellers as well. They are under $20.
No reason not to, it would work just fine, just be sure to get the polarity's right.
Have done this many many many times in the past.
What I do is cut the leads so they are off set from each other, this way you can't have a short, I solder them and use some good electrical tape of heat shrink to keep them looking neat.
If your using a 3 amp supply and only need 1 it will work flawlessly.
Well, for under $20 the 3 amp power supply i bought solved the problem perfectly.:D
Thanks guys for all the helpful info provided.
HI i have a old adaptor kicking around that 12V dc 100mA will that work ok thanks
Nutech electronics in Hamilton Ontario. $30 . 12volt 5amps works great.
If it's work fine on other transponders then the power supply is fine.
There is a ton of junk up there, some times transponders can be interfered with, by other satellite signals and ground sources, all it takes is the right combination of frequencies and poof it's gone, for a bit or longer.
Another possibility is the one satellite your looking at with those transponders is at just the right angle and you could get a reflection off something, (the ground??) this would cause a signal fade, if that transponder(s) is a bit weaker the the rest (it happens) it will fade out then it will come back on it's own, and at anytime.
Also there are two times a year where the Sun is just right and poof there goes the signals.
One other possibility is the LNB is heating up, and the LO is drifting for those transponders, it could go one way and the transponder goes another, a quick check for this would to hit it with some water from the garden hose, if it comes back you may need a Sun shield for the LNB.
I know this is an old thread , but was just reading thru it again. I have the same problem "power Supply" however it will happen again sometime down the road. You need a DP 44 switch and Power Inserter to supply enough to the LNBs . The T5 power supply is not enough to run 3 LNBs. It will fail again soon. The DP 44 power inserter will power the 3 LNBs . I am in the process of doing the exact thing. The T5 Power Supply will not hold up.
The T5 power supply won't let me use sat. 129 either, it is a power thing.
Yes it is a DC power thing with the 3 headed DP1000 LNB, but you do not need the DP44 switch, just it's power supply, as the DP1000 LNB has an internal switch.
The DP44 switches power supply runs at 20 to 22 volts DC at up to 1.5 amps, this is well within the spec's for the DP1000 LNB, it needs at least 750 mA of DC current and around 20 volts DC to run right.
98% of the FTA receivers out there can only supply 500 mA at 18 to 19 volts DC, this will under power the DP1000 LNB and could cause all sorts of signal problems, plus over time the LNB power circuit in the FTA receiver could suffer some sort of damage, then your receiver will go FUBAR.
Thanks !! GOOD INFO.
Yes I change my switch and try lnb... Always intermittent messages "no or bad signal" and it's the.... Power supply problems thank good helpful post
Would someone please tell me if this works for Dreamlink T5?
Input: 100V-240V 50/60Hz; Output: DC 12V 5A max; Output adapter jack size: 5.5mm x 2.1mm
Thank you!
