my 3900 auto updated this morning and ever since has been stuck in boot, anyone know why or the fix for it? seeing other people are having issues with it too, thanks!
Have same problem.
Tried rebooting, no change
Unplugged to reboot, No Change
Try a factory reset, insert small pin in hole underneath device
i am stuck in boot mode also try factory data reset no luck
Sounds like a corrupt update is in the stream?Possible with this many units affected. Not their first one either.I will check & report on my 3900 when I get home.
Where is this tiny hole? . . . I removed the hard drive even to look there. . . . I see a little indent on the bottom near the rear centre in a rectangular panel but it does not seem to move or reset anything.
Mine is down also, and I've looked everywhere can not find factory reset hole anywhere
After the update loaded, it started to install then at about 20% it shut itself down but did not reboot. I gave it 10 minutes then unplugged and rebooted it. It goes through the opening song and dance then sits for 15 seconds the reboots again going through the boot-up song and dance but at almost at the end it freezes.
That's exactly what happened to mine. Tried to push indent on bottom still same. Sometimes boot music stuck on reverb too. Just received mine beginning of June. Thought auto update was turned off. Hope WWS gives me RMA authorization.
That's the setting that I turned OFF after initial first turn on/setup when I received unit. But it must revert back to auto update ON whenever you remove power to unit. To turn on Wi-Fi I always had to use settings button on remote; hilight Wi-Fi; saved address; connect every time I unplugged/ turned unit ON
a lot of us are in the same boat box lock up and cannot use what to do are buzz going to release the firmware so that users can manually install the firmware in there boxes.
I know many have heard "Patience is a virtue" But the older I get the less I have! Lol I emailed for RMA about 12 hrs. ago then followed up with real live phone call (remember those) a few mins. ago. Discussed problem; advised still in warranty; have to wait at least 24 HOURS before RMA e-mail is answered. Lol.
I was prewarned. I unplugged hardwire, turned box on went in and turned off auto update, turned box off.
Plugged hardwire back in turned box on and update started, cancelled, update starte again, cancelled
and turned box off before it had a chance to try to update again. I unplugged hardwire turned box on and
auto checked update was still turned off. This box had never been connceted to wifi. Turning off auto update did nothing.
Now it sits there not connected waiting for update to be pulled.
Does anyone know if this update is only the the 3900??
the 3000s got an update too
I just got home.BEFORE I tried my 3900, I killed the internet in my house,as mine updates only when I turn it on.Turning off updates never had any effect for me.It booted fine without the net working. It's unplugged for now until I hear they pulled their poison from the stream.Brutal coding once again.
I advise anyone who HASN'T booted their 3900 today, kill the net first:it may spare your unit.
I plugged mine in ,an update started ,cancelled it 3 times ,went and turned off auto update
good for now
Updates been pulled for 3900 + 3000 + Basic running Android 7.1
Those affected by stuck on Boot logo
Will have a fix soon they can use.
my 3000 was trying to do the update
has anyone one installed it or is it locking up the 3000 as well?
Hey guys,
New here so forgive my ignorance.
Came home from work and went to turn the box on and noticed it was nuked. Did some searching and it brought me here.
Once the new FW update comes out, where is it made available? Can I install it myself or do I have to bring the box back to the reseller?
Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Mine was already loaded but the download got stuck once and I had to reboot. Tried again and went smooth, same thing with 3000
Thanks for all info guys! I've got mine stuck too. I'll be waiting for a fix.
I noticed a 'youtube' rom update on my 3000 so I cancelled it. Is that the update messing up the 3900 boxes?
I got return e-mail from WorldWideSatellites on my RMA request. From Buzz TV: "Our team is working on solution for XPL39000 which are stuck in boot mode. We expect to have a solution tomorrow. I added you to our mailing list. Thanks for your continued Patience in this matter."
