    Default Ubunto Youtube - No video will play

    Recently, I was running 10.04, and the ability to watch videos stopped after a download. I never could figure it out, and was unable to get the video to play. So, I waited patiently! When 12.04 came out, I installed it immediately. I was sure the new version would fix the problem. I have searched the Internet, and all of the forums, 'till they bleed' all to no avail, on how to fix the problem. It sure would be nice to watch videos again.
    At this time I would like to thank you for all assistance, and appreciation.

    You should be able to install flash from the "software Center" in Ubuntu itself.

    This might be a bit late but I'll chime in. Open the software center and search for flash. Find it and install it, it's free.

    Or easier go to google.com and grab chrome. It's also free and packages flash with it, so you don't need to install it separately. I'd suggest this method since Adobe has dropped support for the flash in the software center which means in the future it's gonna get outdated.

    Not being a fan of Chrome/Chromium, another work around is called Flash Aid

    Code:
    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/flash-aid/
    I know this is an old thread, but after the last December updates for Ubuntu you flash probably stopped working again. Flash Aid will get you going

    An easy way to get it is to turn off fire fox and open the console window (cntr t) and type
    $ sudo apt-get install flashplugin-nonfree
