    Default Septic alarm

    OK all you plumber/septic guru's.

I'm at a friends house today, watching football today and we were out on the deck during half time, (good cold beers) I heard a warbling alarm, after looking around we found the alarm was coming from his septic pump control panel, Under the deck) I hit the reset and it quit, all I know about septic tanks is that the stool fishing is good.

His wife was doing some laundry but nothing with a ton of water usage, after the reset it hasn't come on again........What's up with the alarm?

Septic tank alarms are typically when you have a two tank system, one holds the solids while the other has the liquids.. The one with the liquids has a pump that pumps the liquids into the drain field and when the tank gets too full because the drain field has issues or the pump fails, the alarm sounds .... It' usually the pump failure ...... Lol

Well we ran some water and things seem to be working, we did have some heavy rain a few days ago, it could be that the leach lines may still be flooded, he will more then likely call someone to look at it later.

And I'm not going to open it to look.

this is most likely what happened the liquid had no where to go cuz the leech bed was saturated by the rain water.
