    Default VLC Media Player

I'd like to start posting pictures, as you know I don't do that too often, using vlc media player. I find most of the pics I post with my camera are not clear and someone told me to use vlc by hooking up my receiver with my computer via lan. I am definitely not high up on the tech smarts and was wondering if anybody has used this before. Any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated.

To my understanding, VLC media player plays media on the PC. Somewhat like windows media player. VLC plays most video formats like MTV, mp4 and flv..

You can take snapshots with vlc there are a few ways
to take snapshots ctrl alt and s with keyboard or you can set
up your custom interface(go to tools) and put the snapshot button in your
toolbar.Play a video pause it then click the snapshot button
the snaphot will go to your my pictures on your pc.You can add
the snapshot button to your toolbar in the custom interface
do the same with the record button and more....

Any reason this is in the linux section ?

Vlc is a pretty popular media player ( beats windows player hands down) but I wouldn't use it for imaging . Lots of programs out there that do the job better .

I put it in the linux section Stan because I would be using a sat receiver to communicate with my computer and post screenshots of feeds I pick up.
