Well the X5 does not have a US or Canadian based satellite list, you have to completely erase the satellites in it's data base one at a time, then add the information your self.

Once this is done, you can then do the firmware update via the internet.

I can't help you with the IKS stuff.

I use mine stricly for FTA satellites like 97W and 101W.

To add lets say 91W you go to "Menu" then "installation" (enter the password 0000) then select "Satellite List", press the "RED" Add button, select the "Satellite Name" by right arrow, enter "Nimiq 6" then the "Confirm".

The you must enter the Position, use West, next the Longitude, use the up arrow to enter 090.0.

Once this is done you exit this menu and go to "Satellite Setup" you select the new Nimiq 6 satellite and change the information to your LNB frequency, and Diseqc switch for that satellite.

You will notice the the transponder is empty, you have to exit this menu and go to the "TP List", you hit the SAT button till you get to Nimiq 6, here you enter the TP 12224 by hitting the "ADD" button, here you will add the "Symbol Rate" of 20000, and a "Polarization" of "Vertical".

Once all this is done you can go back to the "Satellite Setup" menu, select Nimiq 6 and hit the BLUE Scan button, select the "Blind Scan" and press OK, this will find all active TP's on that satellite.

There is a channel editor for the X5 and X5 Super you can add TP's and Sats with computer and then to receiver with usb.
