    “The Long Winded Version”

Ok, don’t let the title fool you, none of our members are dummies, the title merely points to this being a simplified explanation on how the set up your Pinwheel HD Mini for first time users.
Once you receiver your receiver you’ll note that the third party DVB S/S2 Tuner Module and the 8PSK Turbo Module are not assembled in the receiver, they are shipped this way for some obvious legal reasons which we will not go into so I will post a link to a sticky in our Pinwheel forum that will explain in detail how to assemble the receiver.

    http://www.satfix.net/showthread.php?138994-How-to-assemble-3rd-Party-DVB-S-S2-Tuner-Module-amp-3rd-Party-8PSK-Turbo-Module-LS

Now that you have assembled your receiver you can start by connecting your RG6 cable, installing the WIFI adapter that came with your receiver in the rear USB slot and connecting your HDMI cable to your flat screen TV, last but not least connect the power cord to your receiver, please note that you should never disconnect and connect any cables to your receiver while the receiver has power, once you power up your receiver you should find yourself in the menu screen, let us begin by loading the 3rd Party File, you will need a “Fat32” configured USB Stick.
    1. Insert your Fat32 configured USB Stick into your computers USB slot.
    2. Go to our Pinwheel Forum File Section and download the latest file which at this time is version 2.8.
    3. Download the file to “My Documents” and extract the file from its zipped form directly to your USB Stick.
    4. Remove your USB Stick and insert it into your receivers USB slot located on the receivers front panel.

    9. Once the file is downloaded you will see the word “Done” on the receiver screen, press the “Power Button” and the receiver will reboot, one thing to mention that is very important is “DO NOT INTERRUPT THE RECEIVER WHILE IT IS DOWNLOADING THE FILE”.

Would this configuration work the same with a EMP 9x8 Powered switch?

When using dual lnb you use both sides of the lnb to switch.
If you were using quad lnb that received 110/119 then there would be four outs and two for each satellite to switch. As you can see on bottom of switch there are eight outs for eight receivers.
I believe these switches are meant for legacy lnb not dp or dpp. Hope this helps.
