IPTV is a general term that stands for Internet Protocol TV. There are a vast amount of devices that run IPTV in one form or another. Android is an OS that lends itself to media streaming very well, similar to linux. There are many Android TV boxes around and they come in many forms, some ready to go just plug in and watch, others are user selectable. IPTV/FTA is a combination of the 2 methods of channel delivery. When FTA is not available you can switch your unit to IPTV and watch channels that way, each manufacturer has their own way of presentation and selection of channels.
With IPTV everything is delivered through your internet connection, if you have a limited line you might find yourself going over that limit. SD channels can consumer about 1 gb /hour, HD can be 2 -3 GB /hour depending on the source resolution.
    Hope that helps a little.
