Yup. Will work fine. When you get tired of the high price rogers, google start. ca which is a reseller of the same service only a lot cheaper and much more down load for less. good luck

Plug it in and try it. if it works great if it don't you'll know. sorry but most of this stuff is trial and error.

Did you buy or rent the the hitron modem? The hitron will work with the power line.
Start has VDSL2 internet modem plus wireless gateway (SmartRG SR505N) basically the same thing that you can rent or buy. I'm not trying to convert you to start, but if you do any amount of downloading you get twice as much from start, comes through the same cable, so no installation necessary, and no hookup fee as you would be moving from rogers. Just a thought.
Anyhow plug in the adapter using short ethernet cable, to the modem and the other to the receiver, unplug them both, plug the modem back in and wait for it to come all the way up then the same with the box. All should be good. Let us know

not sure why the powerline wouldn't work.. it's independent from the modem as it's transferance is through the outlet of your house.

powerline adapters only work really well if the both outlets are on the same circuit in the house. After that it is sort of hit and miss with the things

Yes good point Nostra, at least on the same phase, on opposite phase, usually a no go. Also make sure not on a power strip, somehow the power strip circuit protectors block the passing of the connection.
