    Default Need a question answered

I'm in hamilton, ontario living in a apartment building on the third floor I've already got my one antenna pointed to Toronto now when I use my compass to point to New York I'm south east but my apartment wall is in the way so my question is with Rochester being about 185 km I'm looking for a indoor antenna that can reach that far

Not possible, this due to the fact that the Earth is round and it tends to get in the way a bit.

Go to TVfool.com and enter your address, this will give you an idea on whats around you.

Here is a TVfool horizontal graph report on WHAM-TV in Rochester from your location.
    Code:
    http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wrapper&Itemid=29&q=id%3d2c15bc3c60f617%26t%3dALLTV%26n%3d25
WHAM-TV is on the left side of the report your location is on the right, as you can see you are below the signal horizon.

You may be able to get it sometimes as tropospheric skip on a very large outdoor antenna, but that is chancy, but never on an indoor antenna.

You never know until you try. I am facing north and have no sight lines to either the CN tower or Buffalo. But with a little tweaking and experimenting I can pull in most Toronto stations and the networks from Buffalo. I have a feeling that I am getting a signal bounce off of the building beside me. But never would have known if I didn't try.

TVO, Global, Omni, CBC, City, CHCH, Omni 2 off the top of my head. And CTV but that one I have trouble getting, just west of TO. ABC, CBS, CW (forget the actual name at the moment) has 2 channels. I have trouble with NBC and FOX from my location but occasionally get them.
