Default Inline Amplifier which one? ANT1005 or RCA AMP1450R?

I got my setup working in the south thanks to everybody here. Now I'm home and want to get that one channel working from the other thread that I created. I am looking for channel 12 (it's a 2edge) about 70 miles away (flat land). The antenna I'm going to go with is the Antenna Craft Y10-7-13. Now which inline amp would you recommend? The RCA ANT1450R that is around 10db or the the Digiwave ANT1005 that is around 30db. I get mixed reviews on both of them. The antenna is going on my roof with about 50 feet of cable to my tv. Any suggestions?

    Here is my tvfool report:

The RCA ANT1450R is an amplified TV antenna not a pre-amp.

The Digiwave is for both UHF and VHF, if your just looking for a VHF only amp then it's going to be hard to find.

The best way would be to use a UHF/VHF antenna combiner and then the Digiwave amp.

You only need enough gain in the amp to overcome the loses of the cable. So estimate the max loss of 50 feet of your cable at the highest frequency that you need--I think that is about 500 MHz with the reduced range allowed for TV signals now.

Sorry I meant AMP1450R. I only need the VHF antenna. I just want to get the Fox channel. I'm not worried about the amp if it's uhf and vhf, I'll just be using VHF hi.

I thought the inline amp will boost the signal to the antenna a little better.

I would go with the digiwave amp, and the amp boosts the signal to the TV set not to the antenna.

This is what your up against for that channel,(see the link below) it is going to be a flat shot, so mounting the antenna as high as you can will help,(the higher the better) you will experience some ground bounce at certain times of the day or night, this will cause signal drop outs, no way around that.

Makes sense. Do I even waste my money on the Digiwave amp then? When you helped me with the antenna down south, the Philips indoor/outdoor antenna came with an inline amp. Without the amp I didn't get a signal. As for the antenna, maybe there's a better one than the Y10-7-13 out there? From what I read, this is the only one worth while.

The Y10-7-13 is currently the only VHF only antenna available to the consumer, you can get some commercial ones but you will pay through the nose for them.

Redo your TVfool report with the AGL set to 40 feet, see what happens.

These are the antennas we use for MATV and CATV systems, you order the BTY-10HB antenna and have it cut and tuned for the TV channel 12 you need.

    Code:

They are expensive but work, a single channel antenna helped to keep out the terrestrial interference as we could use bandpass, band-reject and channel filters.

Looks like that antenna might be hard to find up here. Back to the amp. Should I buy that Digiwave amp?
