    Default moving dish to 129w

looking for a simple answer here, going to try moving a dish to 129 and wondering if someone could tell me if looking at the front of a 110/119 dish which way would you move a dish to the left or right and up or down?

thanks in advance for any help

Well there are no simple answers in this case, it all depends on your location.

129W is to the west of 119W, so you would move it to the left about 4 degrees,(looking from infront the dish) doing so will loose 110.

Depending on the type(s) of LNB(s) you have and any switch involved, you will/maybe be changing the Diseqc switch settings as 119 will now replace 110 in the LNB switching, 129 will take over at the 119 switch position.

As far as raising or lowering the dish again it all depends on your location, it's not the same everywhere, so some telling you to move it two inches to the left and raise it 1 inch would be wrong, you may just need to move the dish 4 degrees to the left then re-skew the dish for 129W.

You will be pointing the dish in-between the two satellites, dishpointer.com can help you find the new direction and elevation for 119 and 129, just enter your address and select 119/129 in the multi LNB selection, then zoom int0 your location, move the marker to the dish location and click on it, this will give you the info you need, it will also give you a line on a map pointing to the correct location.

Also 129W has a funny footprint. (it's coverage area)

Go to the link below and find your location, select the CONUS beam (in the pink bar at the top) and zoom into your location, then click on it, this will give you the estimated dish size needed for 129W at your location, as I said in the post above it is not the same all over, this satellite has a very funny footprint.

And you may need a bigger dish then a dish 500.

Did you get your dish moved to 129?
