    Default Viewsat Max HD and xx-client lniux ?

    how to set it up the Viewsat Max HD and xx-client linux?

    my setup Viewsat Max Hd with sk200 with PFTAHDMSW_110802HM.peg
    using usb to serial adapter
    null serial cable
    running windows 8.1 main system
    running vm player with linux ubuntu-11.04-desktop-i386

    I did dmesg to get where the serial location and it's /dev/ttyUSB0
    using xx-client_v2.5.57.273-linux-x86-atheros-broadcom
    the linux-x86, set up the ini file with serial_port=/dev/ttyUSB0
    it's connecting to iks server
    linux-x86 in running under root

    but Unable to open USB0..

    Any help would be appreciated

    I always found using a USB to Serial adapter to be a pain in the butt and never wanted to be recognized in linux BUT a port replicator always worked.

    I know this post is old but stumbled on it looking for other information.

    Why not just run the Windows xx-client right off windows 8.1? It's on this site.
