    Default switch help needed

How can I get north and south providers on a Dreamlink T5

Dish 1: SUB with Dish Pro Plus LNB and DPP 44 muti swithch (with power inserter)

    Dish 2: has two Legacy

Tried two legacy lnbs into 3x4 switch (not powered)
Then both provides into SW21x to T5
BUT could not get all sats recognized.

Then tried legacy lnbs to SW21X switch
then both providers into SW21x to T5
But still could not get all sats rocognized

Should one of these work and what should I use for sat settings?

I think you would need an ecoda 0/22 switch Run the dish set-up into one side and the two legacys with the sw-21 I know its always best to have all one type lnbs Terryl should be in and there are others with more switch knowledge than me

Your trying to mix apples and tomatoes, legacy and Dish Pro don't like to play well with each other, even with a second switch trying to isolate them.

It would be best to go with all DP (Dish Pro) type LNB's, one for each satellite (DP twin output, single satellite LNB) then the DP44 switch will not have problems trying to switch between 4 satellites.

The problems that come up is there is not enough isolation between the two different types of LNB's, (coax cross-talk) the DP type LNB's use band stacking* for all the transponders on one coax, the legacy LNB's use a +13 and +18 volt switching, they get hopelessly confused.

*Band stacking, two different frequency bands on the same coax, one at 950 to 1250 MHz for all the L/H transponders, the other at 1450 to 2150 MHz for all the R/V transponders, all this down one coax.

    Thanks.

Another question: Are you saying once I change the legacy to a DP it will need to go through the same DP switch as my sub uses (because the dishes are 50 to 60 feet apart)

Sorry I didn't see the sub in the setup, this complicates things as the sub will not want to see the other satellites and may confuse the heck out of the setup.

The subbed receiver will not see the other satellites (North) as it is not authorized to do so, this may be why the setup is not working.

You may need to setup a separate system for both North and South into the T5, this may be the only way.

I see a couple of things wrong with what you tried........

#1 - Two legacy LNB's can't go into a 3X4 switch (you would need two 3x4 switches) unless it's a DP 3x4 then you would probably need power to run it as it's a bit of a power hog and like Terry said they like DP lnb's.

#2 - You can't put two SW21 switches on the same run, it will cause conflicts, instead try running the lnb's into a diseqc switch then into a SW21 to combine dn & bev.
