Ryan Dungey sealed the deal on his third Monster Energy Supercross title Saturday night at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

All the Red Bull KTM rider had to do was finish 14th or better and - though he wasn't able to pick up his 32nd consecutive podium finish Saturday night - he left no question as to whether he was truly a deserving champion, claiming the title with one round left to go in the season.

Ryan Dungey's greatest rival in the second half of the season has been Suzuki rider Ken Roczen. Both riders raced their way into the main event with wins in their heat races.

In the main event, Roczen took the holeshot and never looked back, while Dungey fell back to sixth at the start. However, he was then able to pick off his rivals one-by-one until he finally got up to third, but then found himself unable to pass Cole Seely. Eli Tomac then passed them both, pushing Dungey back to fourth. Dungey wasn't able to get by Seely, and so his podium streak ended at 31.

Meanwhile, Malcolm Stewart extended his points lead with a win over Martin Davalos and Jeremy Martin heading into next weekend's season-finale in Las Vegas, where the 250SX East and West riders will square off in the same race to determine two champions. Malcolm Stewart will be hoping for a similar night to the one he had this Saturday night, after he won his heat race and took the lead in the main early. Then, to the delight of the crowd, he celebrated his victory with some dance moves on the track.
