Sony 3D-capable HDTVs now available for pre-order

Sony Canada this week announced that Canadian consumers can now pre-order the company’s new LX900 series and HX800 series of 3D-capable LCD HDTVs.

The 3DTV capable sets feature Sony’s new monolithic design and should arrive in June.
Sony LX900 Series

The Bravia XBR-LX900 series, available this summer, will feature integrated 3D functionality and come in screen sizes of of 40-inch, 46-inch, 52-inch and 60-inch. Two pairs of Sony active shutter glasses are included. The 1080p (1920 x 1080) models also feature Edge LED backlight, quadruple frame rate (240Hz) technology, Wi-Fi, four HDMI inputs, and the Bravia Engine 3.

The XBR-HX900 series also feature an ambient light sensor that automatically optimizes the TV’s colour and brightness according to the room environment and lighting conditions for optimized settings.

The 40-inch (XBR-40LX900), 46-inch (XBR-46LX900), 52-inch (XBR-52LX900) and 60-inch (XBR-60LX900) will sell for $3,000, $3,500, $4,500 and $5,500 respectively.
HX800 Series

Also 3D ready (with the addition of Sony active shutter glasses and transmitter, sold separately for $350), the HX800 series is available in screen sizes of 40-inch (KDL-40HX800), 46 (KDL-46HX800), and 55 (KDL-55HX800) and retails for $2,600, $3,000, and $3,800 respectively.

The 1080p (1920 x 1080) models also feature, quadruple frame rate (240Hz) technology, Wi-Fi, four HDMI inputs, photo/music/video playback and the Bravia Engine 3.
