Question Will a 1000.2 Western Arc WA LNB F 1K2 DP Plus, fit in a dish 500 dish?

Like the subject says will a 1000.2 Western Arc WA LNB F 1K2 DP Plus, fit in a dish 500 dish? Or is the WA LNB a bit bigger than the dish 500 holder?

    TIA JETS

The LNB mounting arm that holds the LNB's out away from the dish is different between the two, so the dish 1000 LNB holder (3 LNB's) will not fit on the dish 500 arm, and the dish 500 LNB holder (two LNB's) will not fit on the dish 1000 LNB arm.

Also the dish 500 pan is different then the dish 1000 pan, and does not have the receive beamwidth (it's allowable receiving area) to cover three satellites spaced 19 degrees apart, the dish 500 will only pick up signals from two satellites 9 degrees apart, (110/119) so the outside LNBs (110/129) will be starved for signal.

I have removed the LNB mounting arm (and dish mount) from a dish 500 and mounted it on a dish 1000 pan, two LNB's on that setup will work fine, but the other way around will not work that good.

    Terryl,

I have used the dish 500 with a x5 lnb holder (aftermarket) to hold 3 legacy lnb 110,119,129 and it work fine on all threes sats (bit lower on 129 but acceptable). The dish 1000 LNB looks like a dishpro twin, so if it fits in the holder I think the signal would be OK. Do you know if the 1000 LNB will fit in the dish 500 holder?

No it won't, it's too big for a dish 500 holder.

And 129W has a very funny footprint, it does not cover all areas of North America with the same signal strength as 110 and 119 CONUS beams.

This is why you may have a lower signal on 129W.

Example: I live inland on the West coast, but right on the West coast (San Francisco Bay Area) you can receive 129W with an 18 inch dish, I live inland about 130 miles, (Sierra Nevada Mountains) I need a 39 inch dish for 129W, (I have a clear sight to 129W) but only need an 18 inch dish for 110 and 119.

You have to look at the designed beamwidth of the dishes, the one for 110 and 119 (dish 500) is designed for two satellites 9 degrees apart, the one for 110, 119 and 129 (dish 1000) is designed for three satellites 19 degrees apart, what one do you think would work best for three satellites spaced 19 degrees apart?
