Default linkbox 9000 and uverse wifi

I have a linkbox 9000 and I have been using at&* dsl and it has worked great. we recently switched to u-verse and I don't get a blue light blinking on my wifi, although it says automatically connected. Any ideas or could someone lead me to the area that can help me? I have changed every firewall section that I know of. Thanks in advance.

You don't get a blue light blinking on what? Your router? Did you go into network settings and scan, select then input the new router password? When turning the receiver on by the back switch when it starts up, do you get:

    Wifi device connected
    Wifi connected
IP address flash across the screen

blue light on the wifi antenna that plugs in the back of my receiver. also, the router has an auto button that automatically connects without putting password in. It says wifi auto connected. there are no options to scan and change router, unless you can tell me were to go. On the screen, it says wifi auto connect, but it never shows an IP address. I can't figure it out. we hooked it up wired and it works fine. I have gone into the settings of the router and turned the firewall off, but still nothing. I just don't know what else to do so any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure about the blue light. Try using the regular connection method.

    Go to:
    menu
    tools
    network setting
arrow right on the line showing ethernet, that should say nic card switching then it should show wifi
    then select scan
    select your router
scroll down and enter the wifi password and hit connect

You should then see wifi connected and an IP address flash on the screen.

my other dsl modem would allow us to put in the password, but no scan. This modem has auto connect and I don't know how to turn that off. We have wireless direct running through it so I probably shouldn't turn it off, but I know where the network setting is and pretty familiar with this box. I can switch to Ethernet and then back to wifi and it says wifi connecting and never gives me the option to enter a password or anything. I can even go into it to see my password like I could with the other modem. It's strange, but it has to be the Uverse modem that is causing this. I appreciate your suggestions. Do you have anymore? Thanks

A modem is different than a router. Some places set up a Modem/router combo.....so 1 unit does both. The modem receives and transmits the internet from the ISP to the modem. Then the router connects to the modem and routes all the traffic (devices) through it. I'm just trying to make sure we don't get lost here. Can you log into the router and turn off auto connect? Contact your provider and tell them your devices aren't connecting properly. The receiver is designed to scan for wifi and connect upon password input.

After hours of trying, there is no way to turn off auto connect, but I think it is connected because it list my modem as the name connected to. Also, I turned wifi off and it went to 0% quality and 99% with wifi turned on. I can only guess that its blocked by the firewall, but it shows a list of addresses listed that the modem is picking up and this box is not listed for me to choose and change firewall settings to. I have no idea. If you come up with something let me know. thanks
