    Default Reviving 8000

Hi all. My limesat finally bit the dust so i am trying to bring my sonicview 8k back to life. It has been years since i have messed with it. The current version is 5.05 on the stb. I am unsure of the hub version. My laptop doesnt have a serial port so even if i found wiznet i am still screwed. Anyone know what version is on the hub with 5.05 on the box? I did find hd2028 but i am unsure if i should just load it..thanx for the help....

I found the SV's to be fussy about the size:try the smallest 1 you can find.I had a group of users at one time all using SV 8000/360.Most of them wouldn't see a stick over 1 gig.Try a small one formatted to FAT32 on your computer first

I read an article that said if the fan is working then try and use a self powered drive. I have a 500gig hd drive with its own power supply. I used that and the file loaded fine. Then i got a message that said network adapter update fail. So just for the heck of it i tried the hub that i used on the premier and bam...all good...its good to be abit of a hoarder.lol...thanx again for your help noof! Sv 8000 back in business

I have 3 in my house. i love these, had to replace the power supply a few times. guy off ebay does a great job reviing the power supplies. I tried so many different boxes but love the sv8000hd. You can buy the wiz110sr, find it works better than ihub.

hope you get it working. I got some stuff if you need to get it up and running. I got hd20e on mine.

    cheers

Where do you get the wiz110sr ? I see a few on Ebay. Does it need any files to load on it for it to work on the SV8000 ?
