    Looks like it's less than an amp.
    Input 120vac 2A
    Output 0-160vdc .6 A

    I'm no expert but from what I've been reading I believe you need DC 12V-2.5A Minimum.

    Yes. Just make sure that the end that plugs into the unit is the correct diameter as well.

    Would there be any reason why i couldn't just use the end off the original power supply just in case the new one doesn't fit.

    I'm referring to the end into the unit. The current running through it wouldn't be consistent if you cut and join your old end.

    Not sure where you’re located but if your in Ontario Canada there are a few sellers on Kijiji or check amazon.ca there are a few sellers as well. They are under $20.

    No reason not to, it would work just fine, just be sure to get the polarity's right.

    Have done this many many many times in the past.

    What I do is cut the leads so they are off set from each other, this way you can't have a short, I solder them and use some good electrical tape of heat shrink to keep them looking neat.

    If your using a 3 amp supply and only need 1 it will work flawlessly.

    Well, for under $20 the 3 amp power supply i bought solved the problem perfectly.
