    Default VPN Questions

    Hi Guys

I think I am in the right place for this question. I do not have a VPN nor until yesterday did I know what that was lol I am using a couple of android boxes and having buffering issues from doing some reading there was mention of my ISP throttling my speeds when streaming but not when I am browsing so I need to know if this is a real possibility as my ISP does not offer TV I am on cable the provider is Comwave I picked them for that reason however when the installer showed up it was a rogers TV guy he said Comwave uses Rogers lines so that may be an issue I have run several Okla speed tests and they show download speeds of about 60 -70 and up load speeds around the 8 mark on my laptop and just about half that on my Android box I do not use their wireless I have it shut off and a D-Link router I am not sure of the model I bought it last year for about 400.00 so I don't think it is that anyway the articals I have read say adding a VPN will stop the throttling so I need some real opinions from you guys also maybe the name of a good one

throttling is from usage.an isp may slow it down if they cant keep for everyone..a vpn wont help for that..
if the isp throttles a particular type of traffic..like netflix ect..
a vpn will help and spoof your location..most have different countries to choose from..some are faster then others
there are all kindz of vpns avail jus make sure they have no cap on bandwidth had that prob before.
maybe some will chime in on this..had a few beerz hopefully i make sence and this helps burnsy..cheers man.

Try running speedtest.net on your system do a benchmark and leave it open, do a test when you think your being throttled down, this will give you an idea on how far.

What are you having buffering issues with - is it Kodi or a private IPTV service?

Why do you think they are throttling - are you having freezing??? You said you are getting 60 to 70 on your computer but only getting 30 to 35 Mbps download speed on your box that should be plenty enough bandwidth.
If you are getting freezing with 30/35 then I would think it has something to with the service that you are watching and nothing to do with your bandwidth.

Thanks Guys for all the help I have run speed test during the freezing on iptv as well as buffering when I stream it never drops below 35 or so I was wondering if the cache was allowing the speed test to show a good rate of speed even though the picture was frozen it is happening on all 3 boxes I try keeping an eye on the speeds on all the boxes as well as with my laptop it seems to average 50 or so

How many GB of memory do you have in your system, you may be running out of ram.

It is not your speed I can run 1080 movies stream on 6mb download no problem but the problem I had was kodi and how it was set up for this type of internet should look up easy advanced settings for kodi and set it up better and do some reading on it because you will see things in a different way after .. can set buffer to 99% before it plays to if your internet is even slower then what I have .. I used to work for internet provider and you can stream 1080 with only 4 mb of download
    good luck bud
