What kind of pump is used above or submerged?Your foot valve or submerged pump could be at the bottom sucking up mud. What is your water level top to bottom?

How long was the house empty? Pipes could be stained from sitting.

One other problem that i encountered after buying my place. Hot water tank, turn it of (gas or electric). Then turn off the water and put a hose to the drain on the tank.Run it outside then open the drain and turn the water back on clean all the sediment that is sitting in the bottom of the tank. You may find rusty crap at the bottom of the tank.

ok , here's what happened. i had an existing system . he changed the bottle out and some nose cone thingy. this unit you have to add salt. it was here when i bought the place. he also add an another bottle unit made by hydrotech. the second bottle is a little bigger than the first and it doesn't take salt. he add this iron and magnseum **** to the bottle, cause he left the bag the pelts came in on the basement floor. he told me to drain the hot water tank and i did. there was a little crap in it . the big thing is now i can see the bottom of the toilet bowl. you couldn't see thur the rusty water. i brushed in bottled water. like really holy *uck. my gf is not upset either anymore. i 've never had water like that in my life. best money i spent yet.
