Cool easiest way for fix a bricked clone Jynxbox.

A friend brought over a bricked jynxbox which sat on a shelf for a month unit I noticed a posting on Ebay for a jynxbox U7 flash chip. I thought why not so I ordered one, it came by mail in four days.

Removed the old chip and soldered the new one in... Switched it on and it booted back up. Checked the software and it's now a V30 (was a V22).

So for $12 Canadian and 5 minutes soldering it's back up, easier than jtag.

Search bat for "U7 Flash Chip for Jynxbox Ultra HD V30 Satellite Receivers". And no I am not the seller just trying to help someone in a jam.

    It didn't work for me.
Now the question is do I order another u7 or just have the main board repaired or replace or is there a more reliable unit?

so this person has the skills and equipment to replace a chip, most do not and any attempt would surly damage the board even more,

It's better to use a BFH, that makes it fit better in the garbage can.

It also helps to take away the daily frustrations.

I find that wrapping it in a brown paper bag and using a lot of string and knots, with lavish loops of rope, then going out on the lawn a swing it around above my head while clucking like a chicken helps a lot also.

TL866 is your friend here, instead of buying new chip, just burn the ALLCHUNK file with the minipro, and everything will work again! Since the RS232 don't work on V20+ clones, this is the best way to test new firmwares on thoses box like updating to the AZlink firmware
