Default how to extend the wifi range

    its 2018

i have high speed 150 internet in the house the wi-fi reaches the garage but not very well. its not that far from the house. i put a tv in the garage and brought out the buzz 3000 it connects but cuts out looses signal.

anyone have any good recommendations on how to boost the wi-fi so i can stream in the garage.
i think i need a repeater but i don't know what brand is best or actually works. i'd like to hear first hand.

thanks for the help or suggestions.

Just use a powerline set that sends internet through the electrical grid.

I never had much luck with them myself:tried several brands. Not stable enough for me.
    DU has a good suggestion.
We have a larger home & experienced a similar problem to your own.I installed 2 high-gain antennas on the router & improved throughput by 50% outside on our deck.Just another option that may work for you.

    Du

Can you send me a link to what you recomend.

I was wondering with the one i posted. I have the hard wired to my buzz in the living room.

If i could use that to hard wire into the router then repeat from there to the garrage?

    Can it work like that?

you don't connect router to router hard wired
you do it thru wifi and set as a repeater of the first router

    so i found an old router..........asus RT-n12

set up in the repeater mode. it says on the one page

    Parent AP status :
    Connected
    Band: 2.4GHz
    Link rate: 130 Mbps
    RSSI: -56 dBm

the link rate i assume is it being connected to my isp router.

when i sit by the asus and do an internet speed test with my cell phone i get between 15 and 20 mbps
but when i go to the garage i only get 2 and its maybe 100 feet away. i moved the router to my bathroom window when i tested.

so my isp router is almost just below the bathroom floor. so really this is the closest.

now if i found a better router i assume i should be able to get that wifi speed up?

was looking around and saw some routers for gaming wifi. but i don't want to pay 300 for a router.

there is this at a store near me for 80.00
    D-Link Amplifi Wireless AC1200 Dual Band Router - Black - DIR-822

    or on kijiji

    TP-LINK ARCHER C7 .......for 50

but will they make a big difference?

I use "Amped Wireless" routers, they are some of the highest powered routers you can buy, I run one into an omni directional antenna mounted outside and it covers about 3 acres with full strength on the laptop.

I been using powerlines for years. Hook up one powerline to router and second one anywhere you have an outlet.. from second one you have clean internet that you can either plug into a iptv box or a router or access point..
this is one i started using for installs.
