What IPTV box to buy that keeps working?

Ok I know this sounds stupid but I have researched boxes and tried a Buzz 3000 first. It worked for a week or to then dead. Would not power on any more so everyone seems to like the Dreamlink T1+ but only 1 Gb ram. Formuler Z7+ is made by the same company with 2 Gigs of ram so I bought that. It worked marvelous for about 5 weeks then it would not connect to my wifi anymore. I beat it to death trying everything including a factory reset byt nothing helped so I am in the process of getting a refund hopefully. Do I have bad luck or what?
The Z7+ has an awesome picture and a really good remote. Do I get another one or is there something else I should be looking at?????

I have had a Dreamlink T1+ for 7 months and works like a charm. I am wondering if you have power problems?

You using a surge protector? Out of 115 boxes I have yet to have a dead unit issue on a Buzz 3000

I never had the T1+. I only made a reference to it because it is the same company that makes the Formuler Z7+ (which I have) as far as I know.

I am using one of those power bars but not sure if it has the surge protection. No other issues with any other electronics on the same power bar. I think it was just the luck of the draw so to speak.

When my buzz 3000 arrived it was great then after a week of use the power connection on the inside of the box had a intermittent connection issue. when i would wiggle the plug power cord it would power off and on. I found a bad power plug inside the box. They use a rivet on the center positive pin on the back of the connector. I fixed it with a dap of solder over the rivet and havnt had a problem again.

I didn't want to open it because if there is a seal on it that would void any chance for warranty. I just returned it for a refund.

Home Theatre PC - basically you take a PC and make that the hub for your audio/video in your home. They used to use XBMC/Kodi for the software - but I'm not sure if that is still the case or if more people are getting into Plex or some other software.
Most use a NAS (network hard drive) to store all their video and audio files and give access to all their audio/video devices in their house. You don't need a super fast CPU - but I believe a good video card is beneficial to provide hardware decoding instead of relying on your PC software to do the decoding. Water cooled or super quiet CPU coolers and quiet power supplies are important if the PC is going to be in your Theater room.

And I will elaborate:add atv tuner card,bluray drive,capture card and you will have a full blown computer to watch any & all audio/video forms you like.
HTPC will be anything you want it to be.Sky is the limit.I have 3 in my home.The best 1 cost me about 1200.00 to build, but you can spend a fraction of that and still have a streaming device that will blow any of the chinese torture contraptions away with functionality & quality.
