I have a 10 footer with existing old c-band and ku lnb and polarotor.
I fired up the old GI receiver and tested an old Houston Tracker. The dish moves, even looks like the lnb cabling is fine.
I'd like to get some opinions if it would be worth my while to sink some bucks into getting it running again.
I've searched the forums. Seems like the info is dated or targeted to european users.
Is power vu in use in the conus? Can I get it working? Concepts (like iks-type subs, find and enter keys like the first vc2 modded boards were done).
If so I would need a receiver. Not especially a cheap one. One with all the features I'd need now or in the future.
And since I already have fta receivers and streaming boxes, concentrating on C band is my interest.
A good LNB. Again, not a cheap one. But not a bank breaker either.
I have an eastern arc iks sub here and it's pretty damned good compared with my 'other' sub.
For C band I understand I may need software to run on a pc to get keys. Correct? Or not?
Or like I do with my ham rig, finding wild feeds.
New hardware and links of how-to would be cool. I'm an experimenter is all.
Thanks beforehand guys.
