    Default Car/Truck audio experts needed.

    OK here goes.

I have a 2007 Chevy Silverado Classic extended cab, a few years ago (5 I think) I replaced the speakers and radio with a better setup, worked great till about the start of summer this year.

The front door main speakers have quit working, but the separate tweeters on the doors work fine, if I turn the treble up I can hear them fine, the rear cab speakers all work fine, have checked the front/rear fader settings and all is normal, removed the door panels and tested the speakers (using a small portable radio) they work, and I don't see any type of water damage.

I can't test the radio harness to the speakers as I don't have a schematic to tell me whats what with the wires, however looking on line I see something mentioned about a speaker fuse for the front door speakers...Great, but where are they???? Can't find anything on the location, they should be accessible from somewhere right????

    Any car/truck experts out there????

Help me Mr. Wizard your my only hope....I don't want to take it in, it would cost a bundle to look this problem down.

I was going to suggest amp fuse under the hood but that leaves that out.As for a speaker fuse if there is one that would be new to me.What about the wires in the in the door jam? Did they both stop working at the same time? I know they did have a problem with water getting in between the rubber and the window. But you said you tested the speakers.Maybe Noof can get you the color of the wires to trace back. They may go back to the ecm if the truck has a nav system

No, first the right side quit, then the left side about two or three weeks later.

And as stated the tweeters for both sides work fine, speakers have been tested.

It's a Sony MEX-GS610B7 unit, and the adapter from it to the stock cable, speakers are 6" Ininity's, they came with a water protection half cone for the back side, this goes on the speaker to keep any water from falling directly on the speaker.

i had a problem(s) like this ... it was busted wires from blasting it ..... yeah i know you do it too ;x
it happens when u can't hear maybe ;x

anyways it wouldn't work in the winter & it sorta worked in the summer ... it worked enough where i could hear music .. that was good enough for me ..... turns out the wires weren't even connect i somehow blew them off ?? i don't know some guy showed me they're werent even connected right after we both heard sound out of them ...... don't ask me how it worked like that ... but maybe there not connected ;x

this was a POS beater " all metal " .. you know the kind you ram into the guy in front of you .. for cutting you off ..... i tore apart the doors to get to them ..... i doubt you'll do the same you never know LOL ;D

All wiring was checked as far as I could, the funny thing is why both????? And if the wiring through the door boot was bad why would the tweeters still be working?????

This may take a bit to troubleshoot.
