    Default Samsung QLED TV

Does anyone know if the new Samsung QLED TV's have a built-in PVR? There are a few videos on youtube about going into the service menu of the tv and changing the location setting to something other than USA (USA tvs have the pvr deactivated for some reason) but after trying that I still can't get the pvr to work ?

Perhaps it's an embedded option in the menu, but the function isn't available in the tv's software?
Kinda like the pvr function of the DN VIP ird's.

Could be, for what I paid for it I would hope they are going to add such software for the PVR, the PVR function is available in most cheaper Samsung tv's which makes no sense at-all

    Maybe this works

    Steps

Turn on TV and make sure it is on source TV

Start the above app on the phone

Press Info on regular TV remote then factory on the app

    expanded service menu will open

    Under “Option”

Change "Model" from H6400 to H6500

    Change “Local Set" to carrib

    Under MRT Option

Turn OTN Support: OFF (stops software update)

    Num of PVR RECORD: 1

PVR Support: ON (will be on after change to 6500 above)

Use ‘return’ button on Reg TV remote to go to previous menu

When done hit factory reset. TV will turn off / restart.

Go through TV set up, You will need to be connected to the internet (have WiFi info handy)

To change Smart Hub region see below

    After setup is complete

Turn off motion plus (this makes picture not look like a soap opera)

TV menu / picture / picture options / Auto Motion Plus / off

    Reset favorite channels.

    Plug in usb HD

Try to record show (press button with little red dot on remote)

Format drive as asked by tv (everything on drive will be erased) (I don’t think this drive can be used or accessed anywhere else without reformatting again)

To find shows recorded: launch hub, media content, usb device, folder, see show you recorded

(This interface is terrible and will make you want to get a Tivo instead )

    Or change input to usb

    The End -

Thanks Fog, I seen these instructions but they are for older models, not for the newer QLED tv's. For example for the “Local Set" setting I only have a USA or KOR option to choose from, there is no long list of countries like in the older models so I don't think these instructions are going to work?

Thanks but that video shows how to enable the HDR Mode which is just a picture setting, HDR has nothing to do with a PVR/DVR feature.
