Why revisit the buzztv ? It's still perfectly usuble, and better than many other boxes in it's current state.
It is still a great box, and like others, it has a few quirks for now. Unlike others, it is going to get an update. But in the meantime, it is still quite usable in it's current state for watching TV. Other than the FFWD/RWD feature on catchup there is no "major" issue. The network slowdown issue you mention is very easily solved by just changing the power button to actually shutdown the box instead of sleep. This way, when you first power it up every day, it take a whopping 1 minute longer to boot, but no issues. I've have yet to experience any issues since I did that, even running a whole day of streaming. So in my opinion, that is not show stopper, and neither are all the "nice to haves".
Hiding adult channels for me, is not a huge issue. For households, change channel list to simple view (which hides categories by default). And then put your channels in favorites, and that is all they will see. Now if they are smart enough to press left, change to new category, and then browse the channels, then you should not have internet. Because they can watch a lot more freely today on web sites like tube&, p0rnHub, youj1zz, etc... And if you think your router restrictions or anything else can stop kids today, think again. Kids, with social media, pool their resources today and realize they can use free VPN services, to bybass these restrictions, and go to any sites they want, to stream video, audio, etc... So unless you use a whitelist style blocklist, kids find ways around them.
For icon on channel list for current channel, it is a minor issue. If you want to start from current channel again, just press the back button to go back to full screen view, and then press OK again, to get back into channel list, and you will be at current channel. Very minor detail.
For the catchup options (which I use on occasion), I just have stbemu setup on the same box, programmed with same MAC, so I just exit the buzztv app, and launch stbemu for those occasional times. Minor inconvenience, but nothing major.
Is it perfect ? no
Is ANY box perfect? NO...
Even boxes that have been around for years and have had a few updates, still don't come close.
Bottom line, box is perfectly usable, with only real annoyance is catchup ffwd/rwd features once you are watching catchup.
Everything else either has a simple workaround for now, or is a nice-to-have.
Anyhow, when the update is released to general public, we can hopefully put these discussions to rest..
For myself all those annoyances plus more kept me from using the box in the state the buzztv is at moment. But yea hopefully they adress all those issues.
Also with buzz yes another issue was password had to be set for adult. when on other boxes it was locked to a provider setup password. On buzz it acts like no password needed unless u manually assign a password on your box or it’s 0000.

Have not heard anything in a while now..... is progress being made on the update?
Don't get me wrong, I am willing to wait for the bugs to be fixed, just looking any word on its progress.
It's getting close
This update was for the buzz xpl3000 basic was it not?
It’s the same update just timed so as not to cause issues with upload server
my xpl 3000 is set to auto update by default in the setting.
