Can you use two buz boxes on the same service if only one every on at a time?

I know this works with some boxes but i was unsure if you could do the same with the buzz boxes.

Friend at works wants to get one for the living room and one for her bedroom but the boxes are never going to be on at the same time.

She got the one and i think she hooked up with ipguys

I know you can change the mac to match but that seems a little to simple lol.

For some strange reason i thought it was more then just the mac address involved like box id based on the hardware and the mac.

I have my buzz box in the living room... And in the bedroom I use my older MiiBox with STBEmu, and I've entered the same MAC as the buzz box (mac that is in the APP [which you use for the sub], not necessarily the MAC under the box), and it works fine.. When I turn buzz off in the living room, I go into bedroom and can turn it on there.

I did have an issue if I tried to emulate some of the higher model MAG units, or even the Aura boxes, but that could just be that the server does not support those boxes.. But I switched it back to a MAG 2xx and it works fine.

so if you are using 2 buzz boxes, there is no issue.. It is even easier..

Actually it turns out the ip guys lock the mac to the box and the newer box isn't registered in the system.

Yes most servers do that
Have you changed the mac of box 2 to the box 1 Mac?

Yeah its not merely the mac that's used to lock the box to the server.

You can change the the mac to the same as the first but second box wont work .
Suspected this was going to be the case since changing the mac is too easy these days.

I have the same mac on 4 different boxes and have no issues

We tried it changed the mac over no go then tried changing it to mine and it was the same both times.

I suspect it all depends on the provider with some just using the mac and others using the mac and device info.

I'm 99% sure about this but don't quote me but if it's like express you can't use 2 buzz boxes as the serial of the buzz also gets tied to the credit...not just the mac.

If you have 2 boxes with stbemu and delete the serials in the profile it works.

If you use a box with stbemu and a buzz together it won't work either based on my testing.

There's no stubbling block like that with OK2 or OK3
