    Default Western Canada

Is anyone using this dish to receive 110, 119 and 129. If so how is the signal strength for 129. I live in the Okanagan.
    Thanks in advance

You would need to find someone in your exact area to properly answer your question as signal strengths are all different in different parts of Canada. Try it and if 129 is to weak just put it on a separate dish.

Signal strength ("S") will vary from location to location, also by the installation, different lengths of coax, are there any switches, and different dish antennas will make for different "S" readings, so no two sites would be the same.

Go to the link below, select the CONUS beam at the top of the page (in the pink area to the top right) then zoom into you location and click on it, it will give you an idea on the estimated size of dish needed for error free reception on 129W, you can do the same for 119 and 110, be sure to select the CONUS beams for them as the others are spot beams for different locations around the US.

    Code:

Now this is an estimate, you may need to go bigger for 129 as it is a very picky satellite as far as signals go, for my location a standard Dish 1000 (like in the photo you posted) should work, but I had to go to a separate 1 meter dish just to get a good reliable signal on 129W.

I'm in the Detroit area Maird and I had problems picking up 129 with that dish.
In our area the 129 signal is very close to the horizon - so any obstacles could block the signal - even with their newer dishes it is sometimes hard to get a good signal on 129 here.

'i had 129 on a separate dish. 110 and 119 were on an elliptical dish and 129 was on its own 36? inch pizza dish. 129 was definitely the weaker sister, she was the first one to fade when the rain clouds moved in.
