The power supply "WILL FAIL" on the DL T4,T5, It is the #1 problem with them, causes all sorts of problems from
No Signal, freezes, re-booting, etc. one of the members here did some extensive work on this problem/issue
there is a "Sticky" posted in the DL section all about it, where stated that replacing the power supply "SEEMS"

I'm thinking that the boxes are just getting old and it's their time to die.

Well my neighbor just bought his T5 new about 3 months ago worked excellent on south until recent server changes about 3 weeks back or so then it started freezing like crazy on any working sd channels he did have but soon as he changed a channel and went back it would say scrambled channel , his signal was fine too and was connecting to server fine but no picture. His north side server works excellent on the same box so you think if it was a power issue it would affect both servers not just the south unless you need more power to pick up south sats or something. Another strange thing was the few south hd available on 110-119 worked most times flawlessly which you think would require more power but it only seem to only affect the standard channels his T5. he eventually changed back to his old jynxbox and it has been working fine until the server went down today.

Hi Guy's was just reading your thread about power supply as my friend had same thing happen. Mt T5 went down but red light was still coming on front of receiver and it would boot just wouldn't connect. So he had another power cord tried it and worked perfect.
What I am not very knowledgeable about is using other power cords of different volts and amps. I saw that you used stronger power supplies and wondering aren't you worried it will burn out either PSK board or the receiver itself?
I have other power cords from electric things that no longer work I was going to give him but they are like 12 volts 4 and 5 amps and was afraid it would burn up his receiver.
But I know for a fact he had like 4 of the power supplies that came with his receiver kick the bucket I checked them with my ohms meter and they were putting out 12 volts but only 2 amps and that was enough that would make them so they wouldn't work. Interesting thread guys I'll keep checking and am interested in the answer to my question about how big of a supply would you go that won't cook the receiver?
    Thanks!!

    bbatur,

Why do you say it was the tuner, how did you figure it was tuner for sure? Just asking to see if I can look at the tuner and find any defects.

    TIA JETS

If it was the power cord it would affect everything but north works fine.

The voltage has to be the same. A higher current is not a problem but a lower one will blow up the unit. The unit will only draw what it needs.

Had the same problem about a month ago. It started out slowly loosing signal and got real bad after a week or so. I checked everything, thought it was my lnb so I changed it but no luck.
After reading a little here I seen the power supply was giving issues on the t5 so I happen to have a 12vdc 3a from an asses laptop. It works perfect now, just had to change the fitting size to fit the t5. Its been over a month and holding fine.

I bought one similar and it was humming. I had to send it back. I bought a Delta from a Cisco 828/878 router off eBay. Should be here tomorrow. We run those things for years at work. We just started pulling the units out and throwing them out. I guess I should have kept the power supplies. Ah crap!

So far so good on the new power pack. Minimal freezes and no humming. I put a laptop cooler plugged into the usb port on the Dreamlink too.
