    Default Stb Emu vs ??

Ive seen a couple of different android type boxes that have their own built in software to run IPTV
    buzz being one of them
not wanting to spend anymore money,
staying with a no name android for now

is there any other software that can be used on android boxes beside stb emulator? for iptv use
just looking for other options if there are any

Perfect player is another option.Using M3u,but it's not going to come close to a Buzz which is specifically made for iptv

Most do if you ask. Very few do not offer it.. But is is usually one or the other. And once you have one, you can't switch (it's often a separate sub). Unless you have one of those multi-connection type subs which typically offer 1 MAC based connection and a few M3U ones, simultaneously.

The closest thing to the buzz EPG is Perfect Player (like Dodgem mentioned). It is a very nice piece of software, and the EPG layout, look and feel is great. The only thing I didn't like with Perfect player was it's very slow startup since it reads ALL the channels and all the VOD entries before it starts. This was cruel.. On OK2 and OK3, it can easily take 3 to 4 minutes to get started on slower machines.

The panel_api.php file can be pretty HUGE on larger servers.. last summer, on OK2, the generated panel_api file was 12.6MB.. That lists all the groups, channels, VOD entries (every one), live channel EPG Ids, logo locations, etc... So the unit needs to read the file, and then PARSE it all to build it's list.. It is HUGE.

In the beginning, when there was not much VOD on the server, it was fine and pretty quick.. But as the VOD selection grows, so does the load up time. I would have liked the option for it to pass a parameter (like ?mode=livetvonly) and allow you to separate the LiveTV from the VOD entries in this file. It would really save a lot of time upon startup.

Other options are Smarters IPTV Pro (I'm not a fan of it, but seems to be the software of choice for all rebranded custom programs lately). The EPG scrolling was just too wacked back in the days that I tried it.. Maybe it has been fixed since then, but I no longer use an M3U sub to test it again.

I still use STB emu Pro on all my non-buzz other boxes (mii box 3, a Beelink GT1, and a generic Abox S905X based box). For MAC based subs, this is still the only one I know that works as expected. Yo get used to it

I hated the IPTV smarters app when I first used it, fall of last year.
Going through the EPG would give you motion sickness As you scrolled through, and programs were not aligned, it would highlight left/right and eventually you found yourself 2 or 3 hours ahead or behind the current timeline. Actually there was NO indication of what the current timeline was.. It was horrible.

I had gotten used to the Perfect Player EPG experience, and IPTV smarters just didn't come close (at least not back then). Things may have changed since then.

    According to the latest changelog:
    IPTV Smarters Pro 1.7.9.7 Update
    2018-12-23
    - EPG issue in M3U Fixed
    - Minor Language issues Fixed
    - EPG Scrolling issue fixed
    - Edit User Feature Added
    - EPG Speed Optimization
    - Ads Removed on TV Screen + Minor Bug Fixes
    - Italian Language Support
    - Speed Optimization in Live TV Section
    - [New] - Support M3U File / URL
    - Compatibility with Other IPTV Panel too.
    - Arrangements - We can move group for better arrangements.
    - [New] - Contains Ads and Ads Free Version is available In-app-purchase.
But right now, I don't have M3U sub to test it..
