Heads up! Don’t get Buzzed

In short I’ve been burned by a dealer in Toronto selling buzz tv on Kijiji. After over 20 yrs of playing in the grey area someone did me wrong. Guess my time came, I’ve never had an issue ever before

The story is pretty simple,

I ordered 2 xpl3900’s paid for them and the guy only sent one Xpl 3000. He gave the excuses that his wife accidentally sent the wrong one to me. After talking with him he promised to send the proper ones but instead he sent me another xpl 3000. This took over a month and a half. So after all of th BS all I hav are 2 xpl3000’s. Obviously not what I ordered.
The guys add claims to be a big dealer in Canada for the buzz tv product. His adds are on Kijiji Canada wide and the location he’s at is in Brampton Ont. He promised to fix the problem by sending out the proper one. That never happened, I waited over a month with nothing. I’ve asked to return the money countless times and he says he will but never does, Lol! IMHO this guy is a compulsive liar!
He has told me that his mother died, then the funeral saga, latest excuse is he is now busy at the hospital with his wife who is undergoing chemotheropy. I am truely sorry if any of this true but given the track record I’d say he’s a fake. Using excuses of death and sickness to avoid taking care of you obligations is really close to the bottom of the barrel.

I guess I’m probably up the creek on this one and out three-$Brown of hard earned.

I’d like to spread the word so nobody else gets hosed.
If allowed I’d like to post clear details of who this guy is but don’t want to breach any rules here.

So if you’d like to know the personal details of this dealer shoot me a pm.
I’ll be more than happy to share them.

The whole experience has been a kick in the teeth.

Just making sure the damage is limited, & hopefully others will not make the mistake. It really puts a black-eye on the good guys selling their equipment.

Sorry to hear about this bad experience with a seller on that site. Your thread title could have been wired a little different though.

I'm wondering if you saw the post here detailing the authorized seller of this particular model of buzz, and they had a sale going as well around the holidays.

I must remind you that it is always necessary to read the details of any product purchased and also any site disclaimers from which you purchase from. I am grateful though for the warning to buyers out there and I hope this situation turns out on a positive note for you.

By the way, you mentioned you have been waiting a month for these replacements of the newer model from this guy...... Was this unit released that long to the public? I only became aware of it around Xmas.

Yea great point, I spoke with him Late nov and in beginning of dec, made the purchase then and was told it was the new models with 16 gigs internal, he said they weren’t released to the public yet but he had them and could sell them. When it showed up around the 20th of dec and it didn’t look right. I asked the forum about it

Most people hadn’t even heard of the box yet. Also in that post, with help I identified the one that I had as a 2018 model. So began the ordeal to get the right box and also the missing one.

The boxes are fine otherwise, they appeared to be new and came in a sealed boxed etc.

There is absolutely no way I would ever pay up front to a guy on kijiji!!!! There have been many references to worldwide satellites who has a brick and mortar shop and has been in business for 20 years
If you couldnt meet the kijiji guy in person you should have ponied up the extra couple of bucks and dealt with a reputable dealer

Something isn't right here...... I referred to the thread you created regarding the identity of the unit you have.

This guy told you the unit comes with internal 16 gigs but yet, you asked back then for help in identifying a unit with only 4.28 internal and states what model it is in the settings.

Why would you pre-order a unit, receive it and then ask for help identifying it? Clearly you must have known them that you got dupped.

The order was placed back in the beginning of dec, that was for two 3900s, he apparently had them on hand.
When the xpl3000 showed up I had to ask questions to identify it because the internal data didn’t look right. The box looked wrong also.
And yes the guy acknowledged the mistake and said he’d send out the right ones. However that didn’t happen. Instead he sent out another 3000 after close to month of excuses.

I won’t debate buying from a private seller on Kijiji. It’s guys like these that spoil it for most everyone. As I said before, if bought and sold a ton of stuff on Kijiji “auto parts tools,electronics,”and have never had an issue. This is the first one and I just want others to avoid that if possible. If you read the add you might also think it’s a legit dealer. The add is easily identified with

It has a black background,

Reasons for using a brick and mortar store were At the time the dealer in Vancouver was out of stock and WWSat was out of stock except for a red model. Didn’t really appeal to me. Spoke with this guy and he had everything on hand.
