It's been the cat & mouse game for as far back as I can remember, going as far back as the analog cable decoders (at least in my lifetime).

Technology changes/advances and creative engineering allows people to provide services to bypass certain measures since the current prices for some of these services is prohibitively high (in many cases it's just greed), or just too many restrictions to get certain media in their geographical areas.

In terms of legality, I think you know the answer. If not, a quick google search will get you answers easily.

It may not be legal but lots IPTV are selling on KIJIJI and even Ebay.Ebay has never sold IKS to my knowledge. One would have to believe that it is far less risky then IKS.
Even saw them selling IPTV with fully loaded Boxes in Local shopping malls.

Well,Ebay is not supposed to sell Illegal stuff. If they get one formal complaint of something illegal being sold they have the obligation to remove the item.Hard to believe that after years of IPTV selling on Ebay nobody has made a formal complaint!Or perhaps it is just a grey zone with no basis of being ILLEGAL FOR THE TIME BEING!

I'm not sure if that defense would stand up in any trial - but your Honour - eBay let me do it - so it must be legal :-)

It is still a grey zone... Law is still playing catchup with technology.

I really liked the old article by Michael Geist

I don't think end users have much too worry about. However I can't really say the same for those running the servers, since many of the streams come from some of the big boys with deep pockets.

The threads about being a reseller not an end user.Yes they will look for the big boys with deep pockets but resellers will satisfy their itch.

    Agreed...

Keep it low key and in small forums, then I don't think it is too bad. You limit exposure.
Now if you go with flashy web sites, multiple domains, and 3rd party services (like squareup or many others) for payment collection and quick estore, keep in mind that they keep track of all your sales (since they use that to charge you commission). They will gladly cough up sales details if confronted with legal documents

    Need to be careful.

Agreed. Most end users who got caught during the days of IKS where mostly through payment transactions from a 3rd party provider (Paypal ratted out a lot of people) as it was the easiest and quickest way of identifying them.

Pay in cash to a local reseller or use a Pre-paid credit card (using fake info and paid in cash), or Bitcoin if you must use those flashy websites.
