    Default IPTV and picture quality

Can anyone offer best advise for best picture quality for IPTV? I have tried the Buzz XPL unit, and now purchased the Formuler 7Z+, tried a couple different servers, tried different internet companies, but in general nothing much has improved, in terms of picture quality. Compared to IKS, the picture is very dull and HD is for sure not HD quality. I am a big sports fan, and most times it is painful to watch sports on IPTV. Just looking for some tips or thoughts how to improve, as I soon will have to give up my IKS, as I am moving to a home with no option for a satellite dish. I am not saying movies are poor quality, but a lot of the live stuff, picture quality is poor. My internet speeds is 75mbps, hardwired devices.

I've tried several provider/box combos myself. The best hardware/provider combo so far is Dreamlink T2 Prime with Beasttv. Not far off of sat in quality, at least on the channels that interest me.I won't list the bad combos so I don't get charged with bashing, but there is some junk hardware/providers out there. The most expensive service I've tried was the worst in several respects.
From a hardware point of view, I would say that the Buzz XPL 3900 is my second choice, but the coding needs substantial improvement.Seems like they fix one issue & create two others.Other units are the Buzz 3000 & The Mag family, in that order.
For the record, I'm pretty fussy about what I like:I have Good eyes & ears when it comes to home theater, so when I say it's pretty good, it is.

I was wondering if anyone is using the known iptv boxes (Buzz 3000, Dreamlink T2, Mag, etc) with LG OLED TVs and if the picture quality is better than a 4K LED TV?

Has a lot to do with Stb's also and mags just don't have it.

How much does Global Media Box go for? Is there more than one model for this box?

First of all, there is a difference between megabyte and megabit.. there is no way it needs 70 megabyte (at least not for 4K - maybe when we get to high bitrate 8K sources - but then we'll probably have new codecs also).

Secondly, it is hard to make such a general statement, since- it depends on a lot of factors. Depends on compression codecs (MPEG2, H.264, VP8, VP9, H.265/HEVC, etc... and the quality settings within those codecs) You can get a semi decent 4K all the way down to 15Mbps.. Even Netflix UHD requires 7GB/hour, which actually translates to about 15.5Mb/s. Netflix recommends 25Mbps connection for their UHD 4K connections (probably to allow a little overhead for other devices).

Sure, your devices needs to support HEVC (most new devices do). And obviously if you plan to stream more than 1 stream at a time, you need to add to that.

In reality, you can compress the quality so much, you can probably get 4K even down to 10Mbps, but it could look like cr@p. So there are more factors than just "effective resolution" that need to be considered here. It is always a compromise between size/bandwidth and picture quality. Most often it is more enjoyable to watch a film in a high bitrate 1080p, compared to a low bitrate 4K.

For now, I don't think there are any IPTV services that need that kind of bandwidth. 25Mbps is probably plenty for a single decent quality 4K stream with most IPTV or streaming services.
