All of the south services are finished. They're trying to run it off of 77w because it doesnt get hit by ECM's but they're done.

Don't say that too loud about the north server its just that B#v hasn't started ECM'n YET like dish has been doing but if they think there losing alot of revenue to iks again and see that dish has accomplished what they started out to do they might just start hitting every week too they both run on the same card system system and have used the same type of ECM's in the past so we better not honk the horn too loud or we might wake up that sleeping giant too...jmo

This post is total BS nothing is over. Maybe the main server took a big it but if you have Dik N3 cards you can set up a server and the technology still works.

Well it lasted quite awhile...see if someone comes up with something else other than iptv.

i'm guessing that within 5 years or so you won't even see dishes anywhere except maybe way outside the cities like lake country/cottages and even those dishes will most likely just be for internet.

All 3 Sat only providers are running on borrowed time and they know it.

It's not denial it's fact there has been no card swap so IKS is possible. Until then no map update can change that, sure the major player may shut down but not because IKS is impossible.

I don't think there will ever be a card swap. the technology have been change for a while now. I am just the messenger. Thanks!

there where solutions in the past to beat ECM's but when the technology changed the people on this end seemed to not attack it like they did in the past. when cardless went away on N2 and N3 with the birth of IKS came along they all seemed content with the IKS solution instead of pursuing going back to old methods of flashing cards or cardless IRD's. this tech has been around since 2009-2010 and no one has cared to find a better solution in 8 years? the tech is only as smart as the person or people who designed it. people are not perfect and neither are the things they engineer. there are always going to be some sort of security holes in anything and someone just needs the drive to find and circumvent these security flaws. i know it sounds simple but i also know its not. they have some smart people on the other end doing software and hardware design.

Yes it looks like it’s dead from all aspects. And maybe it should be left as a memory now.

The irony was even in the last months while it was limping along through ecm’s the service was at best a skeleton of its once glory.

The self imposed channel reduction due to dish & direct TVs contract breakdown left the guide very empty. A person really needs to ask what was worth paying for no ppv, almost no premium movie channels, no locals. It was great once upon a time, but Fox,CNN and Discovery do not make a full line up.

As an observer for a long time, back in the early 2000s new ideas and wares hit the forums with regularity. It was truly an exciting time. Before you could digest one idea a new one was already coming up. People were sharing ideas freely, and sometime stuff was leeked that shouldn’t have, but DIY tv was pretty entertaining. You never knew it you had tv on any given day, turning on the tv was like rolling the dice,...anybody remember loc Id 000001 . How fast could you do the bush fix and down load new sw lol! All part of the game.

As I reflect now, about the last time I saw something that matched those days was the release of goofathers software. There was maybe the last guy who worked really hard at making an application work and he freely shared it with the world. Since then It’s been a long time without any real advances. People in the “know” must have either got scared or just up and died, cause all indications are the limited amount of info about iks was driven deep underground. “The writing has been on the wall” for a very long time.

Iptv is the new deal and I look fwd to the keen minds in the new field to continue to develop their “wares” to the point that we forget about the past and move ahead into the future.
