    Default Hdmi for Iptv

I know a hdmi cable was a hdmi cable...but now I see many versions out...1.4, 2.1 etc. Any difference in quality, and is it worth it for tv and android and iptv box? What version should I get?

It all depends on your source and destination.

If you are only doing 1080p, with a basic media player, then don't think it will make a huge difference.
However as the cable spec goes up, it adds more and more features, like Ethernet channel, Audio Return Channel, CEC, etc... So in order for these to work properly, in theory you need a cable which meets the specs.

Here is a small summary of the different features added by the various versions:
    Code:

Having said that however, keep in mind that there are different qualities of cables. For the basic 6' cable, it probably won't make a huge difference. But as the distance between your source and destination grows, then the better the cable quality. Anything over 15', I strongly recommend sticking with 24AWG cables. Anything less and you "could" have issues (doesn't mean you will). Don't go overboard with marketing gimmicks like the old "monster" cables. But a decent quality cable won't break the bank either. Especially for something that you will probably use for a few years.

I buy a lot of my cables from "primecables". I find it to be a great bang for the buck, and the few times I've gotten a defect (I buy hundreds of cables a year for work from them), they very quickly send out replacements, and stand behind the quality of their product. They resell a lot of Monoprice articles, and since they are in Canada, there are no surprises with customs and duties.

Here is an example of a 6' HDMI 2.0 decent quality cable, and they have it for a whopping CDN$8

    Code:
    https://www.primecables.ca/p-333006-cab-hdmi2-6ft-all-hdmi-20-cables-6ft-zinc-alloy-licensed-primecables#sku333006
And if they don't have a free shipping promo going on (which they do quite often), or you don't order more than $49, they offer a very reasonable flat rate shipping cost of $5.95.

So in the case of IPTV and some of the newer tv specs, what HDMI should I get? My run is only 3 to 6ft. was thinking these.

I'm not an HDMI cable expert but I do know they're all versions are backwards compatible. Because of that, I suggest you get the best quality cable with the latest version that you can afford. If you're willing to wait 2-8 weeks, the best bang for your buck is the get them from China via Ebay. You can get a nice 2M long 2.0 ver. HDMI cable with gold plated ends for as low as $5.45 CAD (includes shipping).
