I completely agree. I have my XPL3000 and love it. Not saying it is the best, since I have not tried too many of the other boxes (dreamlink, formuler, etc..). But I do have piles of generic Android boxes (including crappy old chinese generic Nex S905 based boxes, BeeLink GT1 S912 box, and even 2 Mii Box 3 units [legit AndroidTV] ). None of those boxes with any 3rd party app (stb emu, iptvsmarters, etc..) can even come close to the interface of the buzz. The closest app to give you a nice experience (UI at least), was Perfect player (which is what the original OK2 apk was based on). It has a very nice interface, but launching it takes a good 5+ minutes to load all the M3U and EPG contents. It was just too painful every time, I could not continue using it.

Even most cable or sat company STB boxes would cost you about the price of a buzztv box (or any other). But they would be limited to that service. The buzz (and others) can not only be used as nice STB for IPTV, but you can load all sorts of other Android apps on it.

Yes, if you are used to just buying cheap $40 to $60 android boxes, this may seem a little steep. But you get a great iptv experience, with amazing epg, and best of all, a company that releases regular updates, with not only security and bug fixes, but they constantly add new features.

Let's remember we are in the buzz forum. If you want to compare iptv boxes to android the you can start a thread in the iptv forum.

I received an email on Sept 18 from Buzztv that the XR 4000 is now available. Here is an overview video:

Looks like so can set the startup to automatically launch liveTV or EPG. It also supports M3U natively.

I can see a few online retailers selling it for $150 CDN.

Great video review. 2 things Noticed where no gigabit Ethernet and the antutu benchmarks where much lower than any other s905x2 ive come across.
some s905x2 have gigabit Ethernet some don’t, depends on the board.
usually antutu benchmarks for those boards are around 55000 to 60000 this review shows 33000. Thats pretty close to regular s905x devices like buzz3000 but it should perform better than s912 devices like buzz 3900 those are usually around 48000. this 4000 model one is also 2gb ram so maybe the 4gb ram one will be higher or they get those numbers up by improving software.

The 3900 with s912 should still have slight edge in multicore multitasking due to its extra cores. but the 4000 S905X2 should Be slightly better in single core in running general apps and navigating interface and most tasks.
    The 4000 S905X2 also has usb3 that the 3900 s912 dont.
Gaming if that matters to anyone will still be better on 3900 with the s912 and it’s better gpu.
If buzz used a s922x that would been even better and awesome upgrade to 3900.

This 4000 benchmark could been performed differently or with things running or different version antutu. This was a low antutu benchmark for a s905x2.

Specs are also not everything. it’s how it all runs and support. it seems to be running good and they could get those numbers up a bit.
Looking forward to seeing the 4gb model

Are numbers really that important if the box runs well? Their are a few bugs reported currently but the GUI and the buzz portion works well. 3rd party apps besides a couple are running well, without W1 your still not having to optimize apps just to work on your platform which is the case for formuler. When it comes down to does it work and does it runs apps fairly well as long as the answer is yes then it’s doing it’s job. 4 gigs of ram will definitely help out let’s agree on that, but optimization is always the key ram benefits for multiple apps and smoothness but if things are already smooth the difference of .25 seconds for opening and closing an app/apk. I would like to see what they do with the 4gb model in terms of how they utilize the extra space and speed. Looking forward to seeing both boxs in action
