Also what you can do, is cut a Hole in top cover (just slightly smaller than fan you use) and fasten the fan to it
blowing down over stuff (with Hole=More air-flow=More cooling) I used a Dremel tool to cut a aprox. 2"-3" hole in my T4 COVER
AND with some tap screws mounted the fan.
I am still able to hear the tv when it is plugged in except I unplug the fan when I don't have to record the PVR or to watch it.

The HD module has a rubber heat sink.

The fan is all metal no plastic parts however it is to big to fit inside the T5...inside the top cover.

Yes I will, but do you think if I added Sat 110 connected to the T5 would that be overkill now that we know it's an overheating issue?

All you can do is "TRY" That is the only way you will find out, keep it as simple, as possible (bare bones) "LESS=MORE"
I DON'T even bother with South Birds anymore, (down more than up, IMO)

    Update:

The Muffin Fan so far is working the only issue is that I would have to reboot the box every couple of days because if I want to delete the pvr recording it formats the whole external flash drive.

The next move to make is to go to an SSD external drive and see if there is no issue with that, and if there is the next one would be to use an enclosure with an internal SSD drive to plug in which would would have an external power source.
