Default setting up dishpro plus lnb

hey guys a question for you to help me out please.
i was looking to put a dishpro plus on my dish to get bev 91 and 82 just had a couple questions when i do, when i aim the dish using my sat hero meter i find the 91 but should i or will it give me the signal for the 82 also or will the 82 just fall in place ? i was trying to use the normal two legacy lnbs but for some reason the 82 would not come in i'm not sure if the lnb has problems or something else so i was gonna swap it out with a dishpro plus.
    thanks

If the meter doesn't do turbo 8psk modulation then you'll have to do as du says. Set your skew and elevation and if you have 91 on the correct lnb then 82 should be there.

Go to dishpointer.com it will give you line of sight from your supplied location as well as dish settings to use for
the type of dish you use

You also have to select 82 & 91 in the Multi LNB selection in dishpointer, as you will be pointing the dish In-between the two satellites, if you try and peak on one satellite you may loose signal on the other.

You can use TP 14 (12443L) to test for 82W as it still has SD programming on it, your meter should see it if it does not have 8PSK settings.

Your receiver must also have a setting for the DP+ LNB.

Also the DP-Plus has a built-in diseqc switch so you will still have to use the diseqc settings on your receiver. The DP-Plus is also a bit of a power hog so if you have everything set up properly and you are still having issues it might be a lack of power, some people need to add a power inverter with that lnb to get it to work properly.

Insted of a power inerter you can hook up another box turn it on and it will feed power to the lnb

If it is just a DP plus dual LNB (two satellites only) then a single standard FTA receiver will run it just fine, if it is the 3 satellite DP plus LNB used on the dish 1000 system, then a power inserter will be needed.

And a bit of electronics, two receivers will not combine to add power to a dual input(or more) LNB, the receiver with the highest DC voltage will be the primary power provider, if one is looking at a 13 volt transponder, and the other is looking at a 18 volt transponder, the receiver putting out 18 volt will win out.

However with the DP plus LNB's they do not use +13 and +18 volt switching, so the DC power needed would at a fixed voltage, also most DP plus LNB's work at around 20 volts DC, this voltage is supplied by the OEM receivers, they can provide the correct DC voltage and up to 1 amp of DC current, most FTA receivers can only supply 18 volts at 500 mA.

So when using a DP plus three satellite LNB the DP 44 switch power inserter must be used, this will supply 20 volts DC at over 1 amp.

Also the receiver used must support the DP plus LNB, it should have a selection for the DP plus as far as the LNB type, standard or universal will not work.

And the coax used with a DP plus LNB must be rated out to 3 GHz, or swept to 2.5 GHz, the same with any switches, or you will have problems with the upper transponders, the DP plus LNB's use "Band Stacking" to get all the transponders down one coax at the same time, the upper part of this band ends around 2.24 GHZ depending on the satellite.

The coax used for a standard or universal LNB may be a bit short in the frequency response, and the upper end attenuation may be too high, this would cause signal drop outs.
