    Default power supply

I got a couple of these and was recently having problems with one. that bad or no signal thingy. It seems it is the power supply that is toast. Where can I get one ?

This is Lionkings post in the Dreamlink T5 section:

Default Dreamlink T5 HD AC Adapter
I thought I should post a new thread about Dreamlink T5 HD AC Adapter.

The reason for anyone who has an issue as myself with their DL T5 HD that reboots itself every few days.

It could even be a different DL that has the same issue.

Please Google search under this Model # RS AB025J00

After you find the link look at the prices that should be below $30.

    input 50/60 hz .8A max
    output 12v 2.5 A

Remember to look for the Adapter that has the wall socket plug combined together with the
adapter and then one cord to the receiver, I found works the best.

Most of the Power Supply or Adapters that come with the DL Models usually have the ones with the plug and cord that then leads to the adapter box and then again another cord to the receiver aren't the best.

Try Amazon, and all you need is one rated for 12 volts DC at 2.5 amps (or higher), and that it has the correct plug for your unit.

    Code:

DL T5 said HI, That's it. Turn on/off switch to off position took all the wires out except for power, turn the switch back on and nothing happened. no light. I test the power supply with fluke under no load which looks fine.

Is the issue with the power supply problem is under the load?

I open the box and I don't see any fuse, but I notice 12VDC go off/on while attached to the box with the power switch on with the tester hooked up parallel. It's either the box shorted or power supply bad.
    Any suggestion is appreciated.

Try it with a 20 ohm 10 watt resistor inline with the power supply + and -, or a 12 volt light from a turn signal, this will put a load on the power supply, it should still be around 12 volts DC, if it drops the the power supply is bad, if it doesn't then the receiver is bad.

    Thanks for response Terry.
I found an old variable dc power supply in my garage and set it up for 12 vdc. When I hooked it up under the load the dc dropped lower. Then I gradually increased it to get 12. When I turned the on/off switch to off and on position the stb comes on and said hi and reboot and then all I get is 4 or 5 dashes. At this time looks like stb is on, but remote dose not response. I don.t see any red infrared light in the front screen either. When I turn the receiver off my voltage is around 22vdc. This was 12 earlier while receiver was on.

How much DC current can the power supply put out??? If it's over 1 amp then the receiver is pooched.
